A high profile coach for one of the least utilized positions in our offense doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

CK has talked about "flexability" within the staff. If Embree was to be the hire, he could be brought in as the WR coach, which he coached at UCLA and Colorado, and then Frost could be moved to QB coach or some other position. Also, Embree is supposed to be a great recruiter.

I think it's Gruden. He has stated many times that he wants to learn the spread in college for a couple of years, tinker with it, then take it to the Pro's.
I think it's Gruden, it comes out of left field, people's mouth's drop in disbelief. He helps us recruit back to back top 3 classes, a NC and then heads off to the Pro's.

My wild guess is Bellsduck's wild guess is right, Mike Martz.
Available, certainly unexpected, a mad offensive genius, the NFL creds that seem to mean something to some of the 5 stars recruits.
Between him and Frost and Sirmon our NFL experience and credibility would be hugely expanded. Maybe that is what we need to put us over the top in the National recruiting strategy. Seems to work for Harbaugh.

A guy on scout said the guy would "help us with Tennessee next year." Is it a SEC guy? Or even from Tennessee? Phil Fulmer? That would be a surprise.

Jon Gruden! He coached with Daddy Kiffin in Tampa who's now at Tennessee with his son. Makes sense to me.

He did say he wanted to be a guest coach at UO for a year and also have his son go to UO camps so he can learn our O. Don't know how it would totally help our recruiting, if he only wants to do it for a year but it would put UO right were we like to be, on the front page of ESPN and in controversy with the talking heads.

Why would there be controversy about this?

It would be controversial in the eyes of rivals and in the same way as our unis are. Not in a bad way but I would bet if you tuned on PTI or any of the other shows they would chime in on it, some positive and some in a neg way. Kinda the same way PK was when he, as a booster, took over as AD.

It would be exciting for jon gruden to be a coach at oregon. Thats a pretty big name to be a coach. I bet tons of recruits will like the fact of a coach with as super bowl ring recruiting them. Gruden knows the south too because of coaching in Tampa. I sure hope that the hier is a name like Gruden. It would get the nation talking about the ducks again. Any publicity is good publicity.

I want my son to go to Oregon football camp, and I want to learn what the Oregon Ducks are doing on offense. ... I want to go in there and try to be a guest coach.
Interesting.....
Not sure how I feel about Gruden coming into Oregon, if it were true. Certainly a big name, but would such a big personality as that cause distraction among the Oregon Coaching Staff, especially in Kelly's first year? Gruden could be a good mentor for Kelly I suppose, having been the youngest NFL HC to win the Super Bowl, that is, until Tomlinson.

Notice how all of the "insiders" have been silent on this issue, the Kent situation, etc. You know what that means? Big/breaking news will be coming soon.
