MxQuay didn't sign a letter of intent. Siging day isn't until February and there is no early signing period. He may have signed an agreement with USC and began classes, but those agreements are not binding and can be broken at any time.

You're partially right. There is no early signing period, but once you send in a LOI and officially enroll in school, that's it. It's the reason why USC didn't let Kylie Fitts enroll in school despite sending in a LOI with the rest of the EE's. Technically a LOI isn't even binding on NSD (see Seantrel Henderson).

Would be interesting to know what a University spends on stamps for all the recruiting letters they send out. Not just football but all sports.
