I don't see how they can have both UCLA and Arizona, teams that Oregon swept, as #5 seeds? Yes, the Ducks were swept by Cal and Colorado, but they were also without D. Artis. The selection committee is suppose to take significant injuries into consideration.

In addition, J. Lloyd is playing MUCH better now than when he first took over at the point. It's like night and day.

I'd really like to see the Ducks get a #6 seed. An 8 vs 9 has to play a #1 in the second round. A 7 vs 10 has to play a #2 in the second round. Both of those would be tough draws. On the other hand, a #6 would play a #3 in the second round. That's more manageable. It would also avoid the #1 seed until the regional final (Elite 8).

Oregon's going to be a tough matchup for many teams, but in order for them to advance they're going to need a bit of luck where they're seeded. They don't want to have to play Kansas, Duke, Miami, etc in the second round.

Also, if we got a favorable seed and managed to get to the sweet 16, that would give D. Artis another week to get back in the flow. He's coming back slowly, but his timing is still off.

I'm surprised that Lunardi has Oregon as only a #8 seed after last night (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology). I was also imagining a #6 if they won the conference tourney, even given the awful ending to their regular season. I know that Lunardi has a terrific overall track record on being correct on which teams actually get in, but I hope he's a little off this time on the seeding for the Ducks.

I must admit, though: I would SO much love to knock off Gonzaga. It's bugged me for a number of years how the most consistently good team in a far west state is not from the Pac-10/12. I guess it was cute for awhile how Gonzaga was virtually the poster child for the "little team that could" in NCAA basketball; and now they are a likely #1 seed. I'm really tired of them.

I think the ducks get a 5/6 based on the injury to Artis being considered and winning the conference tournament. If the Ducks can get a 5 and stay out west they may get a shot at Gonzaga and if Oregon is "on" they match up well. UCLA with the injury to Adams should be downgraded.

Can someone please explain to me how Oregon's strength of schedule is as bad as it is? I realize we played some terrible out of conference teams, but what about Cincinnati and UNLV? Plus, UTEP wasn't bad, and it's not the ducks fault that teams like Vanderbilt and Nebraska were bad this year. Then you factor in pac-12 teams like Arizona and UCLA, and I just don't see how their strength of schedule is so much worse than just about every other team.

They don't consider who's fault it is that teams were bad. The pac as a league is down in rpi. Didn't really help us

11 of our wins came against teams with an rpi of 180 or worse. 3 were in the 300s.

Joe had Arizona a 5 and UCLA 6 I think, I don't get that when we beat UCLA both times and only one game back, and had a better record than Arizona in conference. So much for winning the conference tournament.

Oregon at 12 kind of makes sense? The winner of the Pac-12 tourney with a 26-8 record, a win over UNLV on the road, 2 wins over 6 seed UCLA, and a win over 6 seed Arizona. Are we talking about the same team? Some fan over on espn

That was actually me. I was responding to one of the ESPN writers on the chat that said Oregon has a low seed, but when you think about it it makes sense.

i'm so pissed with this seeding. They have a few double digit loss teams ahead of us not to mention UCLA which we beat twice.

All the basketball so called experts know we got screwed, except the one's who really count. Jay Williams and ex Virginia Tech coach Seth Greenberg both picked us to win, nice to see people like our team.

The NCAA released their official rankings list and they have have Oregon at 43, which equates to an 11 seed but due to bracket mechanics, it's actually a 12. Cal is one spot above Oregon so they got screwed a bit as well.

A lot of those are such B.S., like UNLV. And just about every team from 25-43 shouldn't have been ahead of Oregon. Should have been a 6 or 7 seed.
