I like your guarantee about Gaines. How one can make such a guarantee I do not know. What are the power ball numbers by chance?

Also, have you heard something about Davis that the rest of the fans following have not? Was his injury more serious than that of JJ and the countless others who were able to come back in less time? Please enlighten us, Nostradamus.
Remember how you apologized for being a dick on C4Q?

Perhaps he didn't mean guarantee literally, and maybe he forgot about Drew Davis. But thank God you made sure he felt like an idiot for making a mistake. Hopefully he'll learn and be perfect from now on, like you.
A fraud is someone who guarantees something figuratively. Also, if you read the rest of the thread I'm sure you will be able to figure out why he didn't include Davis in his projections. He didn't forget him, hence my question. Anyhow, I was just having a good laugh is all. Why don't you try it sometime?

I can't believe nobody even mentions Dion Jordan or Lavasier Tuinei. I doubt Holland sees the field much other than special occasion. Maehl/Gaines/healthy Davis/Harper should see the field plenty. That 6'6 Tuinei kid is interesting too, Jordan is like 6'5 also.

True, but a jerk is someone who belittles people to make a point.

Holland played a lot in the Civil War and started the Holiday Bowl, I don't see how you won't think that he won't see the field next year? He is the frontrunner to start in Terrence Scott's place for sure, then other guys will have to beat him out.

Yeah, I expect Davis(even before injury, he didn't play much) and Holland to see the field a lot more this season as a WR.

8 very capable WR's, I think we are ok for next season.
Davis
Holland
Harper
Maehl
Gaines
Embry
Jordan
Pflugrad

Here's my Holland argument.
Holland, Jamere 53 13.2 0 47
On the year(not counting holiday bowl stats) 53 yards. Long of 47. Average of 13.2/catch. the 0 is TD's
Holiday bowl-the big breakout. 2 catches for 47 yards. Long of 45 0TD's.
Okay I know stats aren't everything, there's blocking, drawing double coverage.

Harper on the year(after he converted from QB) as a true Freshman
122 yards 2 td's 62 long 13.6

My point is this he's fast, wicked fast, in fact he and LaMichael James are gonna do track.

I just don't think he is a better overall receiver than some of the incoming talent, or even other guys on our roster already. Definitely not the second best IMO. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

Gaines is only a maybe, correct? Has something concrete happened that I missed.

I spoke with Drew Davis at the last practice for the Holiday Bowl. He is very positive about returning for fall practive.

I think the reason there is hope for Holland, is that after a long discussion with the staff after the Arizona game, he rededicated himself to the program, basically they said get on board or get out, prior to that he was just wasting space. He did that and played very well the last two games. If he keeps up the same attitude and work ethic I think he starts for sure, if not, you may very well be right, he won't sniff it much at all.

Mops said Gaines committed to the Ducks. Others insiders are not as convinced and think it is not yet a done deal, but things look good. Hopefully Mops has scooped them again.

Holland is the type of talent that should make it to the league, but without dedication, he is going to need that degree, because nobody will give all that talent and potential the time of day without some visible sign that he is worth risking a draft pick or even a free agent spot on... He is fast, but probably not the caliber of athlete who can make as a professional track star.

I have a feeling that the coaches got him to realize that time is short, and he has no wiggle room left, at this point.

IMO, if Holland puts in the work like Jordan Kent did, he has the potential to be an unbelievable, dagger in the heart threat as a deep receiver.

NO doubt his speed is awesome, and with dedication could be utilized on the field well. I just watched most of the holiday bowl two nights ago. The first Oregon play/trick play was a throw to Holland, a good throw, what I noticed this time was Masoli made that throw flat footed. He didn't even step into it. Point is Masoli has the arm to stretch the field, Holland has the speed, but with all this talent if he doesn't work for it, PT will be hard to come by.

Exactly...

You have to wonder how much the early turmoil at the QB position slowed the developement of the WR corps this season. No excuse for the drops, but there were also a lot of balls that were not on target. (Timing, route running, and chemistry between the skill players probably fed into that.)
