Are you really comparing Brown to Brooks? Besides, go find Brooks sophomore stats. They are much better than Brown's. Brown hasn't shown me anything in his two years at Oregon, and I don't think I am alone in making that statement. Maybe he improves with Dunlap and more experience, but he still needs to improve in every area of the game.
Please point out where I compared Brown to Brooks. I compared the know-it-all fans who ended up knowing nothing.

Brown is not the player Brooks was, never will be. He is a very skilled player though that gets bagged on by the fans that think they know everything. To say, after only two years of playing college ball, under a coach that doesn't teach funamentals no less, that Brown is not a good player & should transfer is not very smart. Just like everyone watched Brooks for 2 years & knew he was never gonna be a good player......WRONG.

And for the record, I have no idea if Brown will ever be good. He shows flashes but hasn't put it all together at this point. The point I'm making is that to say a kid who's only a SOPHMORE should transfer because "you've never seen anything" is a really lame statement.

Ok, but ask yourself this: Why are they bringing in another point guard if they are confident in what they have? I was just sharing my opinion. Doesn't necessarily mean I'm right or wrong. This is all just speculation anyway. In my opinion, I don't think the team would be worse off if it was indeed Brown that was leaving. His 17 minutes a game could go to other players next season since it looks like we will have depth.

I totally disagree. I think he's one of the more talented players on our team, he just plays reckless sometimes. He's got tons of potential IMO
Unfortunately, Oregon doesn't convert potential into talent. At least not with Kent.

Brown has shown very little improvement over the past couple years, so I don't think he'll ever amount to much.

Armstead seems more promising because he holds the true essentials of a PG (Ball control, passing, and shooting). Brown's shooting is suspect and he turns the ball over too much. Sure, his quickness and driving abilities are nice, but I'd rather have a PG who can pass and be a shooter though.

Potentially a great pickup, IMO...

Armstead's JC team only had 3 players who averaged in double figures, and he comes from the same JC as current Oregon commit Jeremy Jacob, so there should be some chemistry there already.

Armstead is considered to be a pass-first PG.

http://www.njcaa.org/colleges_college_s ... ats&slid=2

Armstead averaged 6.857 PPG, while Jacob averaged 8.879.

All 5 departing starters from Chipola are currently ranked as 3* athletes by Scout. The final record was 34-2, so they are used to winning.

In addition to Armstead and Jacob, they include PF Gary Flowers [11.788 PPG], C Jonathon Creft (7'/260, and a UAB commit)[3.929 PPG], and SG Casey Mitchell (6'4"/220, bound for W. Virginia)[20.33 PPG].

The only other player on Chipola's squad averaging double figures is 6'7/225 forward Justin Brownlee [10.1 PPG], who appears to be headed to Oklahoma State.

How about compare Brown's freshman stats(when he lead a senior laden team in assists) to Brook's...I'm not saying he's gonna be Aaron...AB is a once in a decade if not more type talent...But he could not shoot worth a lick until he was a senior and had terrible decision making skills before and almost quit the team before his senior year...Think before you post please

I don't think we will have to worry about that after next year. Kent was not let go this year because Jamil Wilson probably would have not come to Oregon and there was nobody out there worth getting to replace Kent at the moment. I think the Ducks will not be much better next season so Kent will be let go IMO.

Is it possible that Singler will be gray shirting next season?

is there any chance that an upcoming SR (Porter or Catron) will finish their degree by the end of their 3rd year (which others have done in Kent's academic program) and allow for an extra scholarship since they could pay to take only the number of classes to remain eligible?
just a thought. i'm hoping Teondre isn't leaving, i'd love to redshirt him and have 3 more years so that he can fully develop

I will hold judgement on Malcolm for now, as I have not seen him play. Brown is the best (maybe 2nd best if Malcolm comes in and dominates, but that is unlikely) PG on this roster right now. If KB transfers, Oregon will be losing a VERY good player. KB was yanked way too quickly in games last season, and I don't think he has been given time or a chance to settle in. IMO, given the opportunity to actually play some extended minutes, KB can develop into a solid Pac-10 PG. To say he has not improved over the past 2 seasons is just ignorant. His defense was 10X better last season than it was a freshman and his offense has improved dramatically, including his shot. If you need stats, they are below for the 3 PGs on our roster! Brown averages MORE assists per game than Porter and plays HALF as many minutes. He also has more assists than Sim per game in less minutes. I know, Brown can't shoot, right?? Actually he had a higher FG% than both Sim and Porter for the season. Not to mention the advantage he gives Oregon on the defensive side of the ball. Just take a look at the steal numbers! He also has less TOs per game than the other 2 PGs. OK, yeah, he only played 17 minutes per game, so the TO numbers are skewed a little and he does turn it over at a slightly higher rate (per minute played) than both Sim and Porter. However, those numbers (regardless of how you skew them) tell me that KB is the ONLY PG on this team with an assist to turnover ratio greater than one.

Here are the numbers:
Minutes per Game:
Porter - 32
Sim - 24
Brown - 17

Assists per game:
Brown - 2.2
Sim - 2.0
Porter 1.8

Steals per game:
Brown - 1.1
Porter - 1.0
Sim - Not even in top 5

TO per game:
Porter - 2.5
Sim - 2.0
Brown - 1.9

Just because Brown shot a higher field goal percentage than Sim and Porter, it doesn't automatically make him a good player. What was his percentage, like 38%? Like I said, Brown needs to improve in every area of the game if he is still here.

Oh definitely, you keep players like Wilson, but it'll be too late by then for Kam Brown.

Brown still shoots awful percentages, and averaging 2 topg in 17 mpg is utterly awful. If he was a full time starter, that means he'd be turning it over about 3.5 to 4.0 times a game.

All the good things he does cancels out because of his bad decision making and his poor shooting.

The point is, why aren't you calling for Sim to transfer too? If everyone that had a bad season should transfer, we'd be left with like two players, tops.

To play for Oregon as a guard, you have to be able to shoot. Brown shot 26% from the arc as a freshman. Sim shot 33% as a freshman. Brown has to be able to either play then 1 and limit turnovers or play the 2 and shoot a high percentage, and I can't see him doing either. With Sim, I think he could develop into a 10-13ppg scorer with 35-40% shooting from the arc.

Also, Brown is going to be a JR this year, and other than maybe better FT shooting, I haven't see any drastic changes with him. Sim is still young and more room to develop.

That's my 2 cents, but believe it or not I've been wrong before. :o I didn't think Masoli could run our team last year, and he proved me wrong.

Maybe 53% from 3 point range is why Armstead is getting a look...
