Stavert in the 7th isn't good for us though

I guess I have mixed feelings. Wearing my selfish hat, I'm glad he went so low because I want him to play football and baseball for us. For him, it might be more of a silver lining: lose big signing bonus but gain opportunity to play college ball in two sports and get a free education, with a better shot at bigger money later.

I'm sure that's exactly what Kelly & Horton are telling him

. It would really bolster our WR core if he decided to come. We should know soon enough.

Only downside I have seen for the Ducks from the MLB draft was P Tyler Matzek(spelling correct?) being selected in the 1st rd. Not a big suprise though.

He might not sign.

Why wouldn't he?

After reading what dudefromor posted showing signing bonus' it all depends on the players agent and how bad a team really wants you to sign. Some players got SB worth way more than their draft position would indicate.

He wants a record-setting contract and wouldn't like to play at Coors Field.

Shouldn't we know by now if Braxton is coming or not? Is there a deadline?

Texas or any team drafting a player with a football option has got to know they have to come in strong to overcome their FB scholarship leverage or you've wasted a pick. Unless they are idiots I expect the Rangers to make a premium offer above normal 7th round money.
If Braxton turns it down, I think he will be treated by our coaching staff like a JC player than a high school player. You figure you have 3 years with him max instead of 5 years. Therefore, I doubt they would redshirt him. I think there is a real spot on our team for a smaller quick receiver now that Phlu and Scott are gone. If Braxton stays I would wager he'll be one of the first receivers of this years recruits class to see the field.
