Re: Status of DucksAttack
Honestly guys the only reason I haven't joined the new site is because it seems to be (and I know it's a slow time of year) pretty much just aimed at talking about recruiting. Honestly I don't want to pay for recruiting info in July. But if/when people start talking more about the upcoming football season, and how actual players are looking, then I will defiantly join the site.

Here's 38 articles since May 21st about football not including recruiting and they're all free...buckmarkduck wrote:Honestly guys the only reason I haven't joined the new site is because it seems to be (and I know it's a slow time of year) pretty much just aimed at talking about recruiting. Like I said, we have some big plans. Matt and Andrew Crippen are going to be all over the football part of Oregon and will also be covering Fall camp like flies on crap.

Tony I was talking about the forum boards, sorry for not being clear. It seems like you get a ton of people to talk about recruiting, but anytime you bring up a topic other than that you only get 1 or 2 responses. For instance I just looked at your premium recruiting board has around 2000 posts while the premium duck board has 335. And again, I know it's a slow time of the year and that will increase. And honestly you guys have great articles and info so nothing against your site in any way.

Its all good, I see that too. Once we start putting the fall camp reports in there, recruiting should not be as popular and it will switch over too Oregon football mode. Just right now with now football news to report and no other sports, recruiting is the only thing to cover really, lol.buckmarkduck wrote:Tony I was talking about the forum boards, sorry for not being clear. I'm with ya dudefromor. No job means no possible way to talk my wife into letting me obsess more than I do.
I also live in Eugene, so I go over and check out the boys myself everytime I need a fix. I've come to realize there are only a few who are as big a homer as I am, and they're mostly on these free blogs and forums. When I digest all the extra info that comes out through pay sites, I only have these forums to even discuss it. The average Duck or football fan that you chat with glosses over when you mention new recruits and active player dramas.
I guess I'm saying that if I didn't live here or needed early info on players and programs that'll soon be on the local news, I'd pay for a subscription. But I'm always happy to chat with fellow homers in person at practice or on free blogs and forums.
Just my two cent excuse

Re: Status of DucksAttack
Seems to be true. Those of us who follow the program close on the boards don't represent the average fan.
At the games, people who sit around me have learned that I know who all the players are. So, people I don't know are asking me during the game "who was that?" "You don't know who Chris Harper is?!"
I think that's changing though. It used to be that a lot of people learned about players on game-day by buying the game program. Now, it's all on-line. And there's so much up-to-date info, news and detail that it's turned the off-season into something new for fans. Seems like it's really changed a lot just over the last 2-3 years even.

i know the players too wheaton....at the spring game me and this guy were arguing who one of the players were....i was right and he was wrong lol. but i wanted to make sure he knew who the right player was because i am proud of the team....they deserve the recognition. what kind of fan would i be if i didnt know anyone on the team by their number?

If caring about these kids as if they are some of my best friends is wrong, then I don't want to be right.dudefromor wrote:i know the players too wheaton....at the spring game me and this guy were arguing who one of the players were....i was right and he was wrong lol. but i wanted to make sure he knew who the right player was because i am proud of the team....they deserve the recognition. what kind of fan would i be if i didnt know anyone on the team by their number?

I hear you. I definitely think it adds to know the players, both for fan experience and recognition.dudefromor wrote:i know the players too wheaton....at the spring game me and this guy were arguing who one of the players were....i was right and he was wrong lol. but i wanted to make sure he knew who the right player was because i am proud of the team....they deserve the recognition. what kind of fan would i be if i didnt know anyone on the team by their number?
But, I don't want to question another persons fanhood.
If they're happy to just find out during the season, the old-school way, that's ok by me. Not everyone has the time. I definitely don't. I just sleep less.

Re: Status of DucksAttack
I'm one of "those" fans that came thru tho 70s & 80s and never gave up on my ducks but to be honest, I have trouble remembering my own kids names at times so forgive me if I blank out on a freshman player.
