CHURCHILL! Back when I was in HS, we stomped South Eugene 74-0, Sheldon 35-0, among other beat downs.

I remember Altman did the same thing when he was hired. There hasn't been many Oregon-level recruits in his time but I think it likely helped with Pritchard.
Nemec did an article right before the season, I believe, that pointed out how Oregon's coaches had basically no relationships in-state. Strategically, I don't think that hurts them much, but it was a little depressing.

Agreed, there are only about 10 schools that the staff needs to maintain a close relationship with. The rest might produce a player every once in awhile, but the majority of schools in-state are producing talent at Portland State's level. The PSU coaching staff is the staff that needs to be schmoozing the HS coaches in Oregon (and the southwest Washington area).

When I attended SHS (Graduated in '08) we were absolutely awful in football and basketball. It was normal for us to win 0-1 games a year in football. Basketball we fared a little better; we would somehow always play Thurston, Sheldon, SoEugene, and the like really close and always steal a couple of those games each year. I rarely attended football games but loved going to the bball games.

Nice to see Taggart in some Nike gear. Hated seeing all those pics of him in Under Armour.

Don't know if I'll live long enough for that.

thurston gave oregon state devin chappell, who started in their secondary the past few years. though i think he signed w/ western oregon out of high school.

thurston beat springfield this year but 6A did not do thurston any favors. they were 2-8, 2-8, 1-9 the last few years, and their 20+ year win streak against springfield was snapped. they went back down to 5A, won 7 or 8 games, finished second in their league and beat springfield. helps to be in the proper classification.
