I think the players can still contact coaches.karlhungis wrote:How can they be so confident in the dead period?Duckenstein wrote:I think CMC is smart. He's putting together a monster staff.
It sounds like the staff is confident in getting Ezeike, Battle and Webb back.
Also sounds like they're confident on Sewell, Williams, and Hall

Re: Ducks land transfer DJ Johnson from Miami
I saw a couple threads and Miami fans seem to be in despair about needing some DE. They also have a couple of DT's leaving early. Sounds like they are scrambling and losing Johnson has made it worse. Sounds like Johnson would have played a ton there next year.Phalanx wrote:Reading a Miami board, it sounds like they have convinced themselves that Johnson is leaving because he wasn't an immediate success there. One of their recruiting 'experts' is saying the coaches consider him a miss talent-wise. They also don't believe the sleep-apnea thing, since his transfer is still over 7 hours away by car.
It will be interesting to see if he gets the waiver. That would probably dispel some of the doubters.

7 hours by car is still closer than the 8 hours on a plane (doesn't take into account any possible layovers) it'd take to get from Miami to Sacramento.Phalanx wrote:Reading a Miami board, it sounds like they have convinced themselves that Johnson is leaving because he wasn't an immediate success there. No but you can easily catch a connecting flight in Seattle, San Francisco, or Portland, all of which would still make travel time under 7 hours.EncinitasDuck wrote:Can you fly nonstop from Eugene to Sacramento? What airline?StevensTechU wrote:7 hours in a car... or a 1 hour flight

Haha. I was more referring to DJ Johnson, not so much your wife.
On the rare occasion I couldn't get a ride to Portland, I generally took the Greyhound. Not luxurious, but i was a student.
