Re: Bryan Addison
When I graduated high school, the California schools only used SAT. It wasn't until I was going to enroll at Oklahoma that I even found out the ACT even existed. Don't know if that's changed or not.

Biggins: "I think Oregon is probably the team to beat right now, despite never visiting. He has a very good relationship with Keith Heyward and Addison's mentor, Ron Allen, who runs the B2G, a training and 7v7 company, is very close with Heyward as well."

Lol that's ridiculous. The essay section is not supposed to matter. If I were UCLA's AD I'd be very irked.maxduck wrote:My understanding is the SAT now has an optional essay and that section was flagged. Apparently UCLA admissions requires the essay portion while most of the Pac-12 does not.buckmarkduck wrote:It's not more difficult, his sat got flagged by the admission dept, and that's why he didn't get in.alxtw wrote:From the article, it seems like his top priority is immediate playing time. I hope he recognizes the current WR situation at Oregon and that he could be catching throws from one of the best QBs for the next 1-2 years. If he trips up, we've got a chance.
I didn't know the admission for athletes into UCLA was more difficult than admittance into other schools in the PAC12. I thought only Stanford and Cal had those elevated admission standards. It does make sense since, as a HS student, it was much more difficult to be admitted into UCLA than USC (where almost anyone could get in if they/ their parents were willing to pay the full out of state tuition with no assistance from financial aid) or UW (imho generally not much better academically than UO, but gets higher rankings and the advantage of being located in big city, Seattle).

Re: Bryan Addison
I've seen comments about his size (6'5"/175- ish) being "rail thin"... He's not SO skinny.
My older brother was recruited by Oregon back in the 60s for basketball, (Sadly, ended up playing elsewhere) at 6'9"/170, (and believe me, those measurements were legit!)
Now that's rail thin! (He grew out of it.)
With Oregon's new S&C staff, Addison will have every opportunity to add good weight, if at all possible.
At safety, he seems to know how to get his body into the right position to make a stop, but his hands appear to be way too good to waste on defense alone.

Re: Bryan Addison
He's committing next week with his top 4 being Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, and ASU:

What is the concensus? That doesn’t really give him time to visit before he decides, unless he is able to come up this weekend. Thoughts?

ASU makes no sense, so I think its down to 3. Nebraska? Hot new coach, possible. Washington or Oregon? As Pittman said, playing time is very likely at Oregon.

Re: Bryan Addison
Main thing working against Oregon is he hasn't visited yet and likely won't by the timeline he's set for his commitment. That makes me lean more towards UW or Nebraska.

Re: Bryan Addison
He can’t visit anyone right now because of the recruiting dead period so not sure how that give Neb and UW an advantage.

Because he visited those schools last year. He hasn’t ever taken a visit to Eugene.lmduck wrote:He can’t visit anyone right now because of the recruiting dead period so not sure how that give Neb and UW an advantage.

Re: Bryan Addison
ASU is in it because his brother plays there. That would be my guess for where he ends up.
Nebraska is surprising because the coaching staff changed, and I thought it was Donte Williams who was his coach.
Although he hasn't visited we do have a leg up thanks to the quarter system, the summer quarter is split into two halves and the second half starts this week. That means that he could be enrolled in class at the end of the week. Of course this doesn't matter if Addison doesn't visit, which I think he still can during the dead period as an unofficial. Come on up to Eugene, take a look around, sign some papers, and go to class the next day. The timeline isn't in our favor, it would have been great if we could have gotten a visit last month.
