We missed on Williams but got Addison as a result of missing that large receiver on our roster. So hopefully he works out like our previous hits/misses. ie nelson/baker, mariota/manziel, etc...GoDucksTroll wrote:That’s a good point, it’s crazy to think how much USC has in the way of WR talent. Still wish we could have closed on Devon Williams. USC fans are saying he’s one of the standouts of their camp. Ford or McCoy would be incredible but I’ll always assume they’re USC bound until they sign an NLI.maxduck wrote:You have to believe Kyle Ford looks at the USC roster and sees freshman 5 star wide receiver Aman-Ra St. Brown, the favorite target and high school teammate of expected USC QB JT Daniels, and wonders how many balls would come his way the next couple years. Add Bru McCoy to the mix plus 4 star freshmen Tyler Vaughns and Devon Williams. Somebody won't be happy.GoDucksTroll wrote:Jackson is no longer committing next week. He was committing to us, but apparently we told him no more room on the ark.
We also turned down Darien Chase. As did Washington. They both waited for too long and lost their spots.
This means we’re feeling pretty good about getting another guy like Jameson Williams or Maybe even Kyle Ford. Ford is going to take an OV to Eugene. He’s also going to take one to Washington but for a scrub game like North Dakota or something. He’s still probably all USC but you gotta try.
Crazy times, turning away a physical freak like Jackson if that’s true.

Missing Williams had ZERO correlation to getting Addison. I'm not quite sure how you saw a logical connection. It's not like having one big WR means you can't have another.

Re: Giles Jackson
Missing on Williams ---> No large receiver on roster/ higher probability for large receiver to come in early and get PT ---> Addison wanting to get on the field as early as possible either as a WR or DB and signs with us.AshlandDuck wrote:alxtw wrote:

Of course there were many other factors involved. (ie close to coach, timing, and many other of his personal factors)
