Look, I'm just frustrated at the possibility of losing Leon, not getting Crim, etc, especially after all the build up on these guys. I never said that stars meant everything. When you're trying to win a championship, I just want the best of the best!!!!

From what everyone is saying Leon won't qualify so it appears it is instead of.
Not true...he's was offered regardless, not instead of. They play different positions.

He was not on two a days because the show was for the 05,06 varsity football seasons. Everyone is bummed to get this kid which doesn't make sense. Yes, he may not be Leon but He Did play top flight competition playing at hoover and lets not Forget Patrick Chung was only a 2* recruit. This Kid could very well end up a stud. Another thing, He runs a 4.7, By the time he comes to Oregon they will get him up to 4.55 range just by weights and agility drills.

I'll agree that losing Crim and Leon (not official btw) hurts because we thought they would be ours.
But no way is Brian Jackson a fall back option.
Jackson had over 160 tackles last season in 14 games! Watch his video on scout.com, he is a sure tackler. IMO he is an ultimate perfect fit for NA's defense. Because we all know the DBs make all the tackles on our defense.
This is a typical starting DB for Oregon. I could easily see this guy having a similar role to what Byrd and WTIII have done.

I like Jackson. For him to be a so called "fall back" Then i'm pleased. And if we get fall backs like this then we will start to develop the depth of teams such as SC. This would be a a good get..and yet another southern kid. gotta help the recruit ties

Great points... and for the record....No one is bummed to get this kid…just Duckgrad99 who seems to think we should get all 5-star players at every position and if we don’t our recruiting class is a failure.

Calling someone a tool is one thing, calling someone a beaver is entirely another and we cant have such over-the-top vulgarity and irreverence on this site. My heavens.

Don't kid yourself that he'll be down to a 4.55 "just by weights and agility drills". Hoover's facilities are unbelieveable, probably better than a lot of colleges, and their lifting and agilty programs are second to none at the highschool level. Jackson is a solid tackler, but isn't very fast. He could be a good fit in our system because Hoover's Defense tends to funnel guys to the safeties and linebackers to make plays. I've seen him play a bunch of times and he could be a solid player but I'm not sold on him as a future star
On a side note, Neal recruited him because he used to the the DB coach here at UAB. I'm surprised he hasn't been able to pull any other kids out of this area since he's been at "The O". The only other kid from this area that I can recall is Tucker Callahan, who left after his freshman year and I believe is now playing at Montana State
