I'd rather see a short season than to have no football. Also, having games that don't count toward player eligibility doesn't just give more opportunities to get game experience, but it also adds up to be a LOT of valuable practice time. Playing 6-8 games will allow a lot of additional practices, and help to make up for what was lost in the spring.

What a great year for the playoffs to tell every league to send their best team and settle this on the field.
