Moses Malone was put in there for a reason. Made sure he would be the top pick. Harper is good, just not MVP good. Having a scoring PG does really help the league transition into more outside shooting teams.
Yeah and the PG position in FBB is so broken- it's why there are limits as to who can play it. PG is such an advantage in this game it's crazy.
Zyme was the one who figured out the glitch in the game. Point guards with 70+ handles break the game. Reason why we try to keep them at a 30-40 range in the draft.
For here Zyme figured it out- but it's been pretty well known since a couple years after the game came out that the handles stat was totally broken.

Yep. I always wondered the algorithms they used for positions.

So the new version has been out for awhile. Someone asked Greydog if they'd be willing to release the official coding behind the original game- they said normally they would, but it's "so bad it's embarrassing" at how poor a job they did coding that they won't release it. But yeah- things like drive defense having absolutely no effect on anything at all, handles stat, etc. Yeah- game is massively flawed. You just have to know how it fails in certain areas to get good.

Lol. Right. I know this is a draft discussion, but Chipper caught my interest. CPU coding is so hard and we are talking about a time when madden, live, 2k we’re just coming out with franchise modes. I don’t know about now but they were terrible for the first 5 years. Reason why I became I fan of fbb

Yeah honestly FBB was better than most. I actually prefer JSB to FBB because I think it's less broken- but it does have its flaws for sure. Still in a good JSB league with my buds from 12 years ago lol.

What other quirks about the game should I know? Like about how drive defense doesn't do anything?
Also, how does the "play for winner" stat work?

Watch out for guys that are “athletic”
Jumping makes inside scoring go up, but it’s artificial

Usually effects it the most with re-signing- looks at how many wins you had and places a bonus based on that to decide if he wants to re-sign- FA is honestly a total crapshoot.

If I remember correctly we play with those turned off here?

Oh we might I’m not sure how we’ve done it here.

Was hoping McCray or Harper would fall to me- so I’m happy McCray did. Did consider a PG as well- but I’m hopeful Lester comes around like he should. McCray adds much needed balance to the lineup.

The rest of the league should be scared now that I have an actual PG on my team

I really like Byron Scott but I felt I had SG squared away.
