The refs have been so bad this game. They let WSU get away with so much yet call really soft contact by Oregon as fouls.

Lawson has regressed, no doubt about it, some guys during covid just didn't work hard. You saw it in football now you can tell who in basketball. Not saying it's easy to get into the gym on your own...
I can't even be mad because the officiating is comical and the conference doesn't have a Commish to even oversee it.
Between the injuries, the refs, Wazzu(an awful shooting team) hitting a ton of lucky shots, and the covid breaks, it's even been a tough season as a fan! Can't even imagine how tough it must be for the players.

It's amazing Oregon is in this with the struggles they've had with COVID, injuries, and now fouls.

Also amazing that we were favored by double-digits heading into this one

Not sure why though since they have been off for so long. If they're without Duarte for any length of time, I can't see them being favored by that much in most of their remaining games.Tray Dub wrote:Also amazing that we were favored by double-digits heading into this one

Yep, but when it comes to post season, nobody cares. If Duarte is gone for more than a week or two, the season is probably lost. Great to have Richardson, and his leadership back is great, but with his injury to his shooting hand, don’t expect the PAC-12’s 3 point leader last season to contribute much in that department. Can’t explain how Lawson is such a black hole now. Hopefully his brother isn’t a harbinger of things to come. Lawson is terrible. Give his minutes to Wor or Kepnang, can’t do any worse. Want to see Terry be more assertive and take some shots. He seems timid. This team will have to rely on defense, period. Without Duarte, there are no players capable of hitting deep jumpers, consistently.greenyellow wrote:It's amazing Oregon is in this with the struggles they've had with COVID, injuries, and now fouls.

So, where was Estrada?greenyellow wrote:Altman said only Eric Williams is out due to COVID while Richardson is not likely as he just returned to the court recently and started shooting.GrandpaDuck wrote:Really interested to see who is available to play. The covid break was nicely timed as that was a decimated roster that took the floor that last game.

If we could just get healthy and get Richardson, Duarte, Figueroa, Williams, and Omaruyi on the floor at the same time, this team might turn the corner. I know that lineup would be undersized, but all five of those guys can play some ball. Or at least make sure you have 4 of those guys on the floor at any one time and try and find a couple of bench players that are not going to hurt you so much.
Until that happens, it is going to be a struggle.

sigh.... that injury to Duarte looked worse than a low ankle sprain. I feel Oregon had a chance to blow this one out before that injury.
While it was great to see Richardson work out the rust and is especially important with Duarte out for who knows how long, he understandably had no perimeter game and I would have loved to see Terry play like he did the game before against Oregon State but he was too tentative in his play and didnt get any minutes until late.
I am not a ref complainer very often. Tonight the officials were atrocious particularly the portly one.

I can't help but wonder how many minutes Patterson would be getting right now, had he just been patient. The Patterson transfer is the biggest head scratcher ever. He would have easily been logging 25+ minutes per game this season all while not using up a year eligibility. Instead he is on the bench at Nevada. He should have just stayed and played this season and transferred after the year was over. Crazy!

Agreed on Patterson, Northbeach! I feel like if we'd had a post-season last year and had success that he'd still behere.

So many injuries, players missing from covid, no practicing, etc....
Watched the whole game. Hard to watch, but not surprised by the result.
