I was reading an exchange between QB11 and a husky guy on Twitter and the husky guy said we had a great chance with JTT then we screwed up something with his recruitment. Curious if he is just blowing smoke or if someone else had heard the rumor?

I hadn't heard that. However, JHop alluded that JTT was perhaps about to commit a month or two ago and then in so many words said things had shifted.

Did we not pay enough?

Anything other than Ohio State or Alabama has been a long shot for a while. JHop gets his info from the Oregon staff, they are going to be confident in their opinions of themselves. JTT and his family probably had Oregon as a possibility, but Ohio State and Alabama are as good at focusing their laser as anyone and he’s the lone remaining target.

As to the change, no idea why other than two speculative possibilities:
1. The family did Big Joe the favor of telling him to save his efforts for the 2022 recruits he won’t get.
2. JTT went to a Washington practice, which I think is insignificant but maybe if he does spurn the big boys to stay west it means the hometown losers.

He’s taking visits in June, maybe they found out Oregon isn’t in the itinerary due to time constraints and lack of interest. Maybe there’s a slim chance, same as it always was. In any case, we should have paid more.

Word on Twitter is that JTT was at Autzen practice today (no clue if true)

He also visited a Husky spring practice recently.

At least the east isn't completely having a free hand. I wouldn't want him to be a Husky but visiting the west coast means we at least have a chance.

Every time I'm convinced he's 100% going to Ohio State, something like this happens and I get a little hope.

It's been about a month since we've heard anything. Does JT have a timeline on his decision?

Don’t think there’s much to report. He’s waiting to take all his visits in June.
