We're up 40 and OSewe is down 26 at the break to some school no one has ever heard of. How about all the preseason hype around the beavs, everyone thinks they are going to the dance, HA! They are a joke I'd be stunned if they finish better than 7th in the Pac-10.

Re: Winston-Salem State @ Oregon Thread
i enjoy seeing the beavs fall, esp to some nobody to start the season, but from a prospective of us trying to make the tourny this season, we need the pac 10 to win as many non conf games as possible so the teams in our conf have a solid rpi rating. with our weak non conf schedule and a down year in the conf, it might be real hard to get a bid even with a solid record bc we don't play too many quality opponents. the better our conf does vs non-conf, the better the wins will look for us in conf on the numbers side of things.

Ducks are gonna win in a blowout, Beavers are gonna lose to a cupcake team. Doesn't get much better than that!

Pac-10 finals so far:
Texas A&M C.C. 67
Oregon St. 43
Final
I think freshman Joe Burton had the best game for the beavers lol, sad considering he only played the last few minutes of the game.
Western Ill. 35
Arizona St. 87
Final
(McMillan's son Jamelle was 4-5 on 3s and had 12 points)

I thought the pac-10 would be down this year, and even though it's only 1 game, that might be the case. Even Washington is barely up on Wright State. Good news for the ducks this season.

94-43. Thats what I like to see. This team is DEEP & looks really good already. I'm liking the defense & full court press to go along with the high flying offense.

Looks like Sim and Williams played particularly well. I would love an update from someone that went to the game. Oregon should have a lot more options this year, so hopefully Porter doesn't feel like he has to do everything. Sure it was against a bad team, but it's been awhile since Oregon has had a blowout win.

3 guys that stood out to me...Teondre - his athletic ability and he's shooting well. Jamil - same as Teondre, plus very versatile as he plays on the wing at times and down low at times. Armstead - never forces a shot it seems like (only took 1..blows by defender for easy layup) but he uses his penetration to kick out to open shooters and has good court vision. also a very pesky defender thats always getting his hands on the ball.
one thing i noticed with the press is that we dont always press to try to force a turnover. it seems like we just wait to make things a little difficult for the team bringing the ball so that by the time they setup their offense, 10 sec is gone from the shot clock. therefore, we dont have to defend as long in the half court. i can recall times last year where we'd defend well for 30 sec and then get out of position in time for the opponent to get a basket as the shot clock expires. the press does bring a lot of pressure and traps, but not always, which i think is good bc the offense isn't sure what to expect. to me, dunlap's defense is setting up ernie's fast paced offense pretty well. we're creating turnovers, running, moving the ball around in the halfcourt with purpose and i know its early and we haven't faced a quality opponent, but we look like a 180 turnaround from this time last year.

Looks good, although the opponent was a nobody the Ducks won easily, the way they should and with other PAC-10 teams struggling, if they keep it up they could be right in the mix as one of the top teams in the conference. Good start to the season.

Looks like Singler had a great game to, at least according to ESPN his stat line was 9pts 3rb and 4 ast. Not bad for only getting 12 min of PT.
