Wow... This is going to be a long season. I am curious how many Kent sympathizers are still around. I really thought that Dunlap would have made a bit of a difference but it sure doesn't look like it.

I have wanted Ernie gone for a long time, I don't care if he is a decent recruiter. It takes 4 years for his teams to accomplish anything. Kent should be gone, If I have to sit through another year like last year, no doubt about it. Hopefully Mike B feels the same way that the rest of us do.

Ernie still too much control of the team... It'll be interesting to see if he is canned mid-season. The Dunlap hire is a good insurance policy if he is we have a former head coach and someone who has basically been an interim head coach before.... If we expect to fill that "theater of basketball" this is not the product to do it. Architecture does not bring people to games. Good fundamental basketball that produces wins will. Kent has lost it. He really needs to go!

This is not just a function of Kent's coaching, but also of his recruiting. As much as I applaud his ability to recruit athletic SG's and SF's, the other postions have largely been ignored. This team is undersized for a Pac-10 team and with their one true center out for the last two games it has showed. Portland and Montana for goodness sake used size advantages against us that we had no answer for. I wish Kilkenny had recognized this last year.

With a new arena coming it, I say it's time for a totally new change. What's the point of Ernie bringing in 5 stars, if he can't coach them to beat Montana?

I swear he has 9 lives... I felt last year he used all nine but he manages to hang on and do just enough to get one more year. When are we going to realize one more year will not solve anything just prolong the inevitable KENT CAN'T COACH!

There are no excuses to losing to a team like Montana at home or on the road. For anyone to say Kent is the best we can get and look at all he has accomplished that getting rid of him would be a step back for the Ducks is crazy. Everyone says he is a great recruiter, that is BS, he is a decent recruiter but not great, Kenny Payne is more of a recruiter than Kent but doesn't get any credit. Everyone says Oregon is not a basketball school, well Oregon wasn't a football school before but look at the program now. We have all of the resources to become a basketball school. Look at Kansas and UCONN and North Carolina, traditonal basketball programs that are now competing in football. The money, support and talent that this team has should be producing better results, end of story. Kent needs to go, no argument.

It seems like we're all in agreement. If Kent's around next year, you can forget me ever going to a bball game in the new arena. Time for the donors to grow a pair, buy out Kent & put up real money for Mark Few or whoever the hell they want. Their weak attempt at it last year was a joke.

A guy I would love to get is the HC of VCU. The guy is like 30 years old & had them in the tourney last year.

Why isn't Wilson getting more minutes? 9 minutes for Crittle when Dunigan and Catron didn't play? Kent has always had no clue in terms of giving playing time to players. As for Dunigan, he should have given it a go unless he was really hurt. This isn't pee wee basketball. Every year it's always something.

I can't believe I watched the whole thing (Let alone paid to do so!)... Except for about 3 minutes, there was no movemeent or intensity on either end of the court.

3 times Oregon forced 10 second vioolations and at least 3 5 second counts, plus forced Time-outs by the Grizzlies, and the Ducks aren't even in striking distance with a minute to go?

Mid-season fire wouldn't be a good thing. Let him finish out the year. If he can somehow turn it around and make the NCAA's, he gets to stay. If we suck again (which looks pretty likely), we'll get rid of him, let Mike Dunlap take over during the off-season, and try to build a program.

Yeah unless we just tank it & don't win another game, Kent should be allowed to finish the season. Idk what to think about you're Dunlap idea. I wouldn't be against it, the guys been great as an assistant everywhere he's been, but at the same time I'd like for the university to conduct a full on head coaching search. Go out & get a young guy to bring us into the new arena.

The players just pass the ball around the perimeter without ever posing some sort of threat to score. Maybe a weak baseline drive is made into traffic and then pulled back out.... The shot clock eventually runs down to 5 seconds and Porter is forced to shoot from 8 feet beyond the arc. Why doesn't Ernie use the athletic ability he has to his advantage? Trying to make the defense move around and out of position is great if you actually attack. But no one creates anything. It's stagnant, unproductive, and boring.

While the Montana offense looked somewhat chaotic, guys were moving around, creating space and opportunity, which is what the Ducks were not doing for the most part.

When Oregon did make a concerted run on both O and D, they stopped nbefore getting the lead back and went back to the perimeter game that was working so well... For Montana.

Montana didn't have to work hard on D, because Oregon's lack of offensive motion, penetration, and intensity didn't put any pressure on the Griz.
