Oregon safety Tyler Turner is hitting the portal. Another that makes you go "too bad" because he and his family seemed all-in on the Ducks and the talent appeared to be there to develop eventually.
And by “all in,” you mean mom taking to social media blasting Oregon for here son not playing over Evan Williams. She had some epic rants, and not in a good way. Actually surihe lasted this long.
Ha, I didn't know that. I've started drifting further away from social media the last couple years. I remember their reactions around signing day.

Edge Emar'rion Winston has entered the portal. Played a lot early but got passed by Oregon's deep Edge/OLB room.

Wtf, this is a rotation guy on an undefeated team heading in to the playoffs. My internet apparently is just going to wane year by year.

Losing Winston sucks. Especially now. He's a darn good player and I'm going to again say I don't see Tuioti as outperforming him, so maybe he feels the same and is getting frustrated.

Losing a rotational member of the 2-deep sucks and now I want to the Portal closed until the season is over, lol.

College football is so broken when guys can just transfer right before the playoffs with a chance to win a national championship

The transfer portal needs to be opened only after the season is fully complete, which I'm sure will happen eventually. The real problem I've been hearing about though are the agents of these kids. They reach out to other schools to gage interest and see if they can get the kid paid more. Putting regulations on the agents would go a long ways.

100%, we certainly need that along with NIL caps and other things. College football is the Wild West of sports and I hope that this in charge can make the necessary changes, though I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

Being in the portal doesn’t mean kids are no longer on the team. It allows other programs to make contact and gauge interest. The portal will re-open following Oregon’s last game if someone needs to actually leave.

Winston entering the portal is interesting because it looked like he was going to start next year, with Matayo moving into Burch's spot.

As a coach there is no way I would want a potential cancerous player dividing my locker room. I only remember one coach (can’t remember who) allowing a player to remain on the team as a contributor.

He would still be behind Tuioti and competing with Jaeden Moore for rotational snaps.

This has him at the opposite OLB spot from Tuioti, where Matayo currently plays:

You’re a coach of a CFB program in the portal era? That’s rad. As such, I’m sure you’ve had many discussions with players on playing time and their position on the roster. Probably had to help a few out the door to open up spots too. I would think with all that experience you would be able to get the sense if a player would likely be a cancer to the team or not.
