"Valuable assessments" of a 7-5 team playing a 6-6 team.

When I hear people say ESPN has too many debate shows and not enough highlights and celebration, I think the last few posts here illustrate why the former gets better ratings. Everything needs to be fodder for an argument or else it's not worthy of our attention.

lol, that’s not at all the point I’m making. I’m actually making the exact point you’re seemingly trying to make in your statement. I was clear they were fine to watch for entertainment, and that’s all it should be.

My original response was in regards to the comments about B1G looking good in bowl games and SEC teams losing to B1G schools. None of that matters. Pay attention to them and enjoy them for what they are, but there’s no point in arguing how it looks for a conference, because there’s nothing of significance to take from these games. Goes in line with posting conference records in bowl games, which I see every year. Those records don’t represent the strength of conferences in any way, because the bowls aren’t accurate representations of the teams in the regular season.

I don’t watch any of the debate shows, I strictly watch live events that interest me. I used to watch Sportscenter religiously, so it seems that I would be the exact opposite of the audience you’re describing.

I will say that I don’t generally watch the bowl games, other than Ducks ones, because there are no stakes, and they are glorified scrimmages, which doesn’t interest me. Has nothing to do with whether it can be used for fodder. I also don’t watch NFL games between bottom feeders. Just not my thing, but also not related to my original point, which was that the games just don’t say anything about a team or conference.

The Fighting Cristobals have given up 14 only halfway through the first. If they didn't have Cam Ward this year, they might've had a losing record.

Bowl Season dialogue:

"Matt, the real question is what's your favorite Poptart flavor"
"Oh, gotta go strawberry."
"Nice! Old school. Classic."

Miami on pace to give up 84 in this one. 21-14 Cyclones.

So glad we don't have a team full of thugs like da U. Fighting each other on the sideline. Mario apparently oblivious to it. Not a good look Mario. Oh and by the way, it's 28-21 Iowa St with 10:43 in the second. LOL Mario is a hell of a recruiter. Coach? Not so much.

Apparently pas interference doesn’t exist for the Miami DB’s.

He played 1 half to get the D1 passing TD record, and then decided not to play the second half of the game.

Canes fans are unhappy and pissed at Ward for bailing and Cristobal for messing the game (again).

Miami wins that game if Ward doesn't sit out. Won't matter for Cristobal's record, though.

I listened to the Miami game in the car. it was reported that 52% of Miami's offensive production was sitting out due to NFL or portal. sad, needs fixed, with NIL they are paid employees of the program, paid to play!

At least 45% of that was two players, Ward and Restrepo. And Ward played the first half. Miami’s defense is absolutely terrible, and has been all year.
