It’s not just about the Angel vs Evans debate, I’m aware plenty of people think Angel is a better player, but moreso I just think Evans and Bittle pair together better while Angels and Cook pair together better.
Evans just started finding some offensive rhythm, but before that offense was really lacking in the paint when Evans and Cook were in there together and Angel would’ve helped with that as he has quite a bit of skill. But also Cook is ready to fight anyone so he brings a lot of toughness in the paint. Meanwhile Evans is a very tough rebounder and does play solid post defense, when Angel and Bittle are in there together seems like they give up a lot of easy layups and offensive rebounds.
Plus if Angel came off the bench and was paired with Cook, he’d get more opportunities for his offense to shine. I know Cook has great effort but every time they throw to him for an iso low post I cringe, I’d much rather see another big with the offensive skillset that Angel has.
