How about Victor Wembanyama! I watched the Spurs vs Mavericks, and every time I watch this kid I’m just confused as to how he exists. I hope to watch him live in Portland sometime. I used to be a major Spurs fan, nobody will ever replace Tim Duncan in my heart, but I sure do enjoy watching this kid just cause of how freaky he is.

For those of us who questioned the extension, I feel like we're on the clock.

For those who missed it - Chauncey Billups arrested for gambling this morning.

Didn't like the hire to start. Don't like the way he coaches and questionable decision making. Didn't like the extension. Will they finally find reason to fire him?

Poker with the mafia doesn't sound bad on the face of it, other than it being the mafia, but than you have to question if he's fixing games with those kinds of ties. That would certainly make a lot of sense with his decision making

NBA players have always gambled on planes etc but the brief read I've done is all about the fraud and conspiracy in addition to a claim about a march 24, 2023 game where they lost by 28 to the Bulls and a bettor placing 100K on that game.

Didn't I always say it was criminal how this team was being run? They should be arresting Cronin as well. That Grant contract alone should be evidence that he was losing on purpose. Plus, signing that insane Lillard extension and then signing him again so that he gets paid on two contracts in the same year for not even playing? Cronin and Lillard are obviously involved in a conspiracy and should both be arrested.

Might as well throw the Kawhi Leonard/Aspiration story into this since the facts allegedly show that money was dumped into Aspiration and immediately went back out to Kawhi.

I know the NBA is an entertainment league but there comes a point where season ticket holders can claim fraud on the part of the NBA and it could also open the door for cities that have paid into arenas to hold a Tort claim as well because of the financial boom of making the playoffs, etc.

In my best-possible Bill Lumbergh voice: So, yeah, uhhhh, I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that, yeah.

Back to being me.

Billups is cooked. COOKED! Wow. Did not see this coming. What an idiot. For someone with his baggage to get a golden ticket and then cash it in with mafia families and gambling schemes is just... wow.

The silver lining is the timing couldn't be any better from a basketball perspective. This clears the way for Dundon to hire a new coach of his choosing who fits his vision for the team pretty much as soon as his ownership deal is approved.

Tiago Splitter is reportedly the new interim HC, which is interesting since he spent so much time in SA with Popovich and the team has invested in its big-men.

Also sounds like money laundering and wire fraud are part of the specific charges against Billups from the Feds in this.

NBA is a terrible product and has been for years. Only reason many people watch this crap is gambling!

Bilups was part of fixed poker games.
