I thought Novosad was injured. Thought it was his back? No idea why the walk on got playing time over Moga tho? Still think Smith Jr is gonna be the next dude at Oregon

It was a muscle or ligament tear in his ribs. He tried to play through it in practice and probably made it worse.

Thanks I thought that he was hurt. No offense to the walk on who has been playing but if Austin wasnt hurt and was needed(in a important game) I would bet Austin would be first in. Im glad for him, maybe he can land someplace and get some pt. Sucks that going forward, if something happens to Moore(and Austin isnt the backup) Ducks are screwed. Give Akili JR the off season and Id bet hes the #2 if Moore comes back.

Has anyone heard anything about Akili Smith Jr in practice or are we just going off of name equity and HS film?

From what I've heard most directly from Oregon adjacent sources is that he practices well and has great enthusiasm in being a Duck.

From 2nd & 3rd hand sources, I've heard he's struggling with the mental aspects like learning the playbook & reads. I take that info as less reliable. If true, I can attribute that to a freshman learning curve and can be overcome with dedication and work ethic which he seems to have...
