Almost immediately after the Trump-brokered deal to bring TikTok under approved ownership, platform users noticed something quirky- posts mentioning Epstein or critical of ICE were throttled down and/or flagged as being against community standards. Similar notices have started surfacing across Meta-owned platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads). My question for my fellow freedom-loving conservatives- How stoked are we about censorship and influencing technology companies to control the population? 11 out of 10? All the years that I said "I don't trust the government," what I really meant is "I would like the government to control everyday activity" and now I've gotten it!

1. Asks a disenguous question filled with loaded rhetoric
2. Props up a strawman for how he *thinks* people will respond, and even creates his own fictitious dialogue
3. Wins his argument with a straw man after blocking everyone he disagrees with

Gentlemen - You have my word that I will not exceed the brashness or vulgarity of the president currently in office that many of you voted for. I will hold myself to the level of professionalism displayed by the President of the United States of America. I'm sure folks will find a way to argue against that because they don't own mirrors to look into.

Also, you and nobody else are victims on this board. No one is forcing you to discuss or read politics here.

You can be as disappointed as you'd like, but it pales in comparison to my thoughts of having higher standards for a forum than you have of a president. But again, I know that will be brushed off and no conscious reflection given. We call this phenomena "hypocrisy," and part of a broad category called "dishonesty."

Pretty interesting how some take pointing out dishonesty as being the equivalent of berating. How do those people feel when Donald Trump gives factory workers the middle finger or call people vulgarities? Interesting how suddenly they don't care about those things considering the relative level of importance.
Maybe I'm wrong. It could be incompetence and inability to connect dots, not dishonesty.

The only dishonest person here is you. You said the guy was just a 'legal observer' and that was a lie. He was a violent ideologue and after initiating one violent exchange with CPB agents, he came back the next week for more. I'm sorry that he was killed before he could get help for his mental condition, but this idea that he was some kind of saint who was just selflessly there to protect women and small children and animals is completely bogus. Your attempts now to hijack this thread and turn it into a referendum on Trump (and factory workers?) are also dishonest and sad. Just admit you were wrong and move on, dude. The fact that you continually allow yourself to be controlled by each new media narrative without ever doing any real research or even waiting for others to do it for you is weak-minded and intellectually lazy. The general quality of discussion here drops by several degrees whenever you decide to show up and push your agenda.

Huge news for the anti-journalist crowd - in addition to using the power of the state to his personal advantage and gaining favorable coverage or killing newsworthy events that look bad, the administration has now taken the next step toward being a banana republic and has started arresting journalists. Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were arrested by federal agents for covering a protest occurring at a Minnesota church. Nazis rejoice.

Yeah, it turns out that the same federal law that the Biden Administration used to arrest abortion protestors outside of clinics also covers those preventing people from exercising their right to freedom of religion INSIDE of churches. Funny how that works.

Is there any shame when you pick and choose facts, then unevenly apply "logic" and "reason" to different situations? Is it a conscious thing that you kind folks know you're exhibiting bias and try to deprive some people of their rights and dignity but would not dare so that to others? This is why I go back and forth between thinking it's ignorance or dishonesty. The shame of hypocrisy would eat at me. But clearly not everyone.
Some people can bring guns to a protest, but not everyone.
States rights should matter until you think they shouldn't.
Free speech and government intervention are a problem unless it's what you like.
Political corruption is a problem unless you voted for the man or woman.
And on and on.
I would feel ashamed, personally.
