Well you can mark Ethan Grant as a rival now. He has been up and down this whole time and then he says he is totally solid to Oregon a month or so back.

IMO I don't think this is that big of a deal were stacked at the rb position and we have plenty more targets to land in areas of need on the team....

Weren't there issues with Dontae Williams qualifying? I would advise the ducks to take another running back in this class.

I hope the Ducks go after another RB because it is nice to have the depth. LMJ and Barner are small and can get hurt at anytime and Alston is not a quality back and Williams may or may not be an immediate threat, at minimum a JC back would be good. I think it is crazy that Grant would want to play on a team that is defensive minded. I wonder why Huff even visited Eugene just to immediately commit elsewhere (He might decommit from TCU though since he has already done so from Utah and Minnesota). I don't care about Huff but this kid needs to figure things out before making a decision. As for Grant what happened to being so pumped about the Ducks, he would have been 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart behind LMJ and maybe Williams which will probably be the same at TCU.

By the way I am glad he decommitted now rather then right before signing day or next season (Harper) so we have time to use his scholarship on someone else.

There is no way he would've been in front of Barner. Also, realize that LMJ and Barner will be sophomores next year. I doubt TCU has an entrenched starter at RB who will be around three more years.

You redshirt, then compete the next year for playing time. That's what a lot of recruits do for top programs. Oh well, his loss.

Its a shame....but, I spose he can join the ranks of Harper, Pryor, Bryce Brown, and the rest of em when we kick their teams asses over the next 4-5 years....

Couple different things could be happening here
a.) Without Blount sharing carries this year he sees LMJ as an every down back and thinks "I won't see the ball for 3 years." or
b.) "I thought I would be the lightening, in the T&L, but damn that LMJ kid is strong and I'm not good enough to beat him out".
Either way, good luck Ethan. Hope you enjoy Fort Worth. Think of the amazing exposure you'll get playing Texas State, SMU, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Wyoming and Colorado State while the Ducks play 9-11 games on ESPN, ABC etc next year.

did you ever think that he's closer to home and it's incredibly cheaper and easier for his parent to see most, if not all, of his college football games? to say that he's afraid of competition is just silly. stop thinking so hard on this stuff. best of luck to him.

Texas is still far enough away from Florida that the parents will have a hard time making it to a number of games I am sure but whatever the reason good luck to him.

Bullshit. I also think that he is either afraid of the competition or realizes Lamichael James is the man. Going to a school closer to home was never an issue.
