Honestly the biggest issue with the defense has been LB play and blown coverages. Most of Okie State’s explosion plays were due to a missed assignment, if the defense can clean those up they should be good. However with the LB’s they won’t be elite, it’s as simple as that. Last year we had Thieneman to cover up poor LB play, and they tried to make Koi this year’s Thieneman which he isn’t, so instead they’re over using the DLineman by doing things like having Bear be the spy and Tuioti play ILB. Even if the DLine and secondary end up playing close to how we had hoped this season, which is a legit possibility, they’ll still be held back by the LB’s. Unfortunately Bryton Michalkowski’s poor LB coaching and refusal to hit the portal really lowered the ceiling of the defense.

Nothing vanilla about tonight's playcalling, and I'm here for it!

So far good effort and response, from the players and coaches. Drew opened the playbook tonight, and I can’t help but feel like the players and coaches took Okie State way too lightly.

Defense did get lucky with a drop on 3rd and 1, definitely want to see the defense suffocate them this drive.

PSU is awful, just giving us the game. Don’t think this game is going to tell us much.

PSU is really bad, but maybe this sill be some good medicine for ill team…. Hopefully

I wonder why PSU fields a football team. Is there really a financial payoff lucrative enough?

Even against Portland State the refs hate the ducks. That block below the waste on Nix was a garbage call.
