DieHard, Just curious how you know the family is here too?! Not doubting you...just curious!
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

If his fam is with him then that is HUGE. Otherwise I'll have a hard time getting excited about the visit.

i'm guessing 95% of our commits didn't need their family w/ them on their visit so i'm not sure what the big deal is if his parents didn't come on the trip. parents on official visits are very, very rare.

Very nice... Too bad he didn't get here for a game, but maybe taking in a pre-bowl practice will pique his interest.

Sorry, but many parents have a huge influence as to where their kid goes to college, especially if they get to see the campus and experience the city for a day or two. The ducks have lost out on several recruits because of parents.

Bryce Brown (Partially), Kennan Allen, I know there's a lot more, but those are the two that immediately come to mind

well we all know that but again, about 95% of all kids who visit not only to Oregon but to most schools, never have their parents along. hell, ethan grant had his parents here and how did that work out?

and we have lost out on recruits because of parents but it wasn't because they didn't come along on the trip, it's pretty much through force or they wanted their child closer to home. there are things to worry about (choice of majors) and there are things that you really shouldn't (parents not coming on a visit).

With recruits on the other side of the country, I consider family visiting with them to be pretty important. But yeah for the most part, I guess it doesn't necessarily matter. But it doesn't hurt either..

In this particular case, with a kid that we seem to be fighting from behind for, a visit with his parents would be huge. A visit with his parents approving would definitely help our cause. I don't think we get him otherwise since it seems at this point that we aren't the favorite.

Well considering 95% of our kids come from the west coast... then ya parents are mostly a non issue.

But when we recruit mid-west/east-coast kids.... then I would logically assume having parents trip with them is much more significant. Of course a kid could choose us anyways, but I would bet more often than not they wouldn't.

Or, as was th case with several high profile players over the last couple seasons, if Mama doesn't visit, she can always say no, regardless of the wishes of the student.
