But he won't stay. Last time they had a good coach (Ty) they brought in a few good classes as well, but as soon as Harbaugh leaves they'll be right back in the crapper...

Ty was there for 7 years, that's a pretty good run. They went in the proverbial "crapper" because they got a new AD who raised their athletic GPA requirements to a 3.4 from a 3.0. Harbaugh and the alumni board of directors convinced her to bring it back down to a 3.0. That is a big reason why they are getting better recruits. Harbaugh is a big part of that, but admissions standards also factors in. Stanford has quite a bit of tradition and they won't be kept down long. Harbaugh went to high school across the street from Stanford and grew up a huge Stanford fan. I don't see him leaving for the NFL anytime soon.alabamaduck wrote:But he won't stay. Harbaugh isn't going to leave for a bad situation though. The Raiders and Lions were both very interested in him, but Harbaugh will only leave for a good situation and he really loves Stanford.
