Weren't we asking the same question last year surrounding Jamil Wilson? And the year before...And the year before...

Recruiting has saved him in the past and I believe that it's very possible it could save him again, even if I don't agree with it. Having an cool new state-of-the-art arena will help greatly with recruiting and at that point I think we move on from Ernie Kent.
I am also with you guys that he should still be fired. And I also hope we get a new coach by the time our arena is up..

But a 5 star PG is a massive difference in OUR system then a 5 star forward or a 5 star center. I think if we land Wroten, we see NCAA tournament appearances.

I guess the Oregon program is sort of like "Little Shop of Horrors"... Dunigan is the gigantic carnivorous plant sitting in the middle of the key, waiting for Seymour (The PG), to, "Feed Me!"

Wroten is a 2011 recruit, so I don't think he will be commiting anytime soon. Certainly not soon enough to save Kent's job. Besides, I don't think talent is the problem with this team and with Kent's teams in general.

Oh dang, that's a good point. I kept thinking he was a 2010 recruit. Yeah, this thread is pretty useless now.

Kent could still land a 5* in Terrence Jones or CJ Leslie, both have Oregon in their final fours so they could save his job like Wilson did last year.

And Dunnigan was a 5* purely on potential...He only seriously started playing basketball at 16...There was no expectation for instant success by him...Just big steps each year like he has taken.

Wroten has dropped us from his top 5 based on the Ernie Kent firing rumours

Ernie should have been let go last year. Now going into a new building with a
new coach unless it is a big name is going to be a hard sell.
