Porter has a better opportunity to set a career record for missed shots, than made 3 pointers in the PAC10 at this rate.

And EK's end-O-game excuse is , "We know what we need... We just gotta get a couple guys who can shoot."

That's correct. Giansante and Closs were saying that during the broadcast. They almost couldn't believe it either, but a lot of the shots made were either one-on-one or tip-ins.

Actually a lot of it has to deal with poor shooting, coupled with a stagnant offense where each player doesn't trust each other so they try going one-on-one.

That's horrible coaching then. You should set up your offense to move the ball around.

Actually, EK did blame poor shooting, in his post-game interview today... It went something like, "We know what we need, it's a couple of guys who can shoot."

Maybe he should have addressed that while he was bringing in 8 freshman in a single season.

"Aw, shucks, fellas! We forgot to git a shooter!"

Well, he thought they had some shooters in Porter, Sims, Wiley, and Humphrey, but none of them have been hitting as of late.

We need an Aaron Brooks, Luke Jackson or Luke Ridnour. It's funny, but it's true. Someone that will give their "A" game every time they are on the floor with big results. They were all go to players who single handedly could take over a game. This team doesn't have that.

They really have no one that can create their own shot or can make a big shot (except for Porter and that hasn't been a very option.) It seems like every other team has that. It's too bad we are out of the running for the duo up at Jefferson (Ross and Jones) since I bet one of them could easily be a starter on this team and be a go-to player.

you mean he hasn't gotten it yet???

He has to have that record. Fires up the worst three point shots I've ever seen and rarely makes them. I'd hate to watch the guy that has more misses than him

So I was looking through the last few recruiting classes, and there is good reason Oregon is struggling.

2005: Nothing

2006: Longmire, Catron, Porter

2007: Viney, Brown

2008: Sim, Williams, Crittle, Humphrey, Dunigan, Wiley

2009: Armstead, Jacob, Wilson, Singler


For starters, we get nothing from the 2005 and 2007 class since Viney and Brown are no longer here. With the 2006 class, Catron has missed the season, Longmire has been in and out because of academics and Porter has been awful. With the 2008 class, Sim, Crittle and Wiley rarely play. Humphrey missed a good portion of the games and Dunigan has been a dissapointment. Believe it or not, the only class helping the team right now is the most recent one, 2009. These guys have been the most consistent, and we would be even worse than we are right now without them. So basically, 4 out of the 5 classes have been crap so far.

But Ernie is a great recruiter... DOH!

Thats what is so comical about the Kent supporters. He may not be able to coach but he recruit with the best of them! Uhhh no he can't. He can bring in two good classes after two Elite 8 runs & bring in next to nothing the rest of the years. Don't even get me started on the fact that we have 8 sophmores on this team with NONE in line to RS, even though a few of them never even play.

The way he's thrown his players under the bus the last few weeks has disgusted me. People say he "bleeds green & yellow" so he deserves to be let out graciously or even kept around to see the opening of Matt Court... all I've seen him bleed is Ernie & Kent colors. His total lack of character is being brought to the surface by all the "adversity". A persons true self is always revealed in times like this & as you can see Kent cares about one person, himself. He'll tear down anyone & anything just to prop his sorry self up. Fire his butt tomorrow, he doesn't deserve to be kept around any longer with the way hes handled himself.

It appears you are correct. From The Oregonian..."Initial research didn’t turn up any lower totals for a team. The Pac-10 online records go back six years, and the lowest is three. We’ll do some more digging – it could be a singular achievement."
