Because they sometimes play like Oregon does on it's worst night.

If Oregon beats UCLA and then beats UW and WSU, all being winnable games in theory, does Kent save his job? My guess is yes.

That was from Mops twitter. Thanks Mops

Sad thing is, I could see that happening. Still, they would finish with a losing conference record and an overall record of 16-14 before the pac-10 tourny. Not good enough.

Absolutely.

For one, an announcer should spend several hours looking over film to make sure they get names right. Not only did they fumble with names, which is understandable from time to time, but they got an entire first name wrong. And it wasn't like it was Serezha or Osayiniwese. It was freaking Jeremy.

Second, like you said, the game being over with two minutes left and down 3? Cmon.

One thing I did like was that they weren't really getting on the officials much about fouls and calls. Thats one of my pet peeves with announcers that drive me nuts.

Have you seen the uniforms they were wearing tonight? They were the ones with the blacked-out name on both the front and back with the only discernible thing being the yellow numbers (from the UCLA game a couple years ago). they should stick with the regular blacks since you can at least tell who they are.

Haha, yep. My personal favorite moment was how one of announcers was convinced that since USC was down 3 with like 2 minutes left, USC HAD to shoot a 3-pointer, or else they had no chance (As if you can't score 2 2-point baskets in 2 minutes).

They probably figured that nobody would watch the game, so it wouldn't matter who the announcers were.

Well . . . this thread has been a pretty incredible read. The sentiment is that people are actually sad the Ducks won, all because of fear over what MIGHT happen with who's head coach next year?? . . .

Boy, I would like to think that one bottom-line reality is that, no matter what, we're always rooting for the Ducks to win every game. My abysmal mistake.

This season is basically over for Oregon anyway. Hate on me all you want, but I don't want Oregon going on a winning streak at the end and Kent getting another pass. Ernie has already gotten 9 lives and his time is up.

Agreed. A win doesn't bring anything positive to the season, it was over a month ago. It does however make the chance that a terrible coach will get one more year, very real again. Which is a HUGE negative. If they bring Kent back I will be done with the Duck bball program. I will still root for them & pay attention but I will never buy any gear or go to a single game.

I for one want Oregon to win every game and the tournament then go a few games into the dance. I think Kent is gone, I don't think there is anything short of a NC that saves his job at this point.
I could be wrong but I just cant see him getting another shot, at least one that goes down!

Not that there is a snowball's chance that Oregon could make any improbable run to an Elite 8 berth, but boy would that give EK some ammo to fire off, or what?

If he was let go before the PAC10 tourney, and the Ducks began to perform well at that point, it says something about leadership (Or should we say, the current lack, thereof?).
