Plus Indiana is a basketball hotbed and close to Chicago, Detroit, etc. I imagine a a coach with a young family would prefer a 3 hour drive over a 3 day trip.

Eugene sucks! And Oregon in in antartica with no recruits anywhere near it. By Steven own words he will never get Butler above what he did this year, and he said they caught lightning in a bottle to even make it to the final four and win 25 strait. One trip to the title game isn't going to land he and Butler 4 and 5* recruits those kids will still stay in the big 10, ACC, Big East. He may not come to UO but some of you sound as though we wont get anyone.

Oh and UO never made a run at Alford the guy is college basketballs version of Mike Stoops. An arrogant blo hard, who wines and makes excuses when they lose, and can't handle playing second fiddle to football.

No one is saying we wont get a basketball coach

some people on this board think just because we have a new arena and Nike, that a big time coach is going to jump at the chance to come here.

That's just not going to happen

This is not the football program were talking about here.

Oregon basketball is not a top 20 job......

And Oregon wasn't always a top 20 football program, so what's your point?

That it's not as easy to lure coaches to Oregon as many people think. How does the football team matter at all to this discussion?

Oregon should be looking at Mike Anderson (Mizzou), Jeff Capel (Oklahoma) and Dino Gaudio (fired today at WF).

Kruger might actually be one of the better options at this point. Then again, none of us know what's really going on.
