Other than on the UOSPORTSDUDE's twitter page, the only thing I saw was the Letterman offer having been turned down.

Of course, $31,000,000 for 1 year at Ball State would definitely make some waves, had Stevens accepted...

  Has there been any legit news regarding the Oregon basketball coach search.......

There was a few twitter accounts reporting it. It's not like our local media is anymore credible....

but like anything else being reported...... take it with a grain of salt.

I'm not gonna lie...I was hoping that McMillan would get fired and Monty would be the next Blazers coach. Now that I think about it, becoming the Ducks coach would be awesome and more in his bag than a head coach...I would rather have Monty than Stevens...Main reasons have already been stated about being local and knowing the area and would get the terrences to join oregon...Stevens, although he's a young star, don't think he would fit the eugene scene as well...

KVAL was reporting that despite the twitter reports, it was believed Kilkenny was to speak with Stevens tomorrow about the opening.

What people won't do to try to get a scoop.

Is this the same news group that reported Oregon was going to offer Izzo a record setting contract?

I haven't seen any local media reporting anything better than the carp coming over twitter.

Interesting, I doubted this rumor about Stevens ever since I first saw it posted. There have been just too many quick posts lacking in substance creating a three ring circus atmosphere in here. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and just wait it out. Personally, I like and respect those in charge for keeping this entire process quiet and away from the media. Refreshing even! And, remember good things come to people who wait. ;)

I'm still on the Monty bandwagon. He has the basketball IQ, ability to work with/motivate players and the leadership qualities that will make him an NBA head coach within the next couple years if he doesn't take another job first. Take those coaching and leadership qualities and add his experience and connection with the AAU circuits and his reputation for integrity to lead young guys by example and I think he'd be the perfect hire.

Can we lock this Thread. I hate this sportsdud guy he was the one posting all rumors on Masoli also. I like ducksportsnews for its quick access to articles, but I would like to black ball the sportsdude. He is putting out dumb rumors with no inside source. And he even got this thread going. Now lets hope we got our Man. Come on Stevens be a Duck.
