He might think that, but unless he drastically improves his junior year, he probably wouldn't even get drafted if he left early. Yes. I believe he was the only coach that was retained because of his relationship with the players and recruiting connections. I remember reading this in Rickerts blog??? Did it not happen?? I hope you are right. At this point, why not just give Payne the job. Look at all of the bigs leaving school early this year..... there could be a void in next years draft
