This kid isn't built like Gonzalez or Johnson... Yet!

Having that size, combined with decent speed, will be huge, IMO.

Given the number of wrs who have been in the system awhile (Holland, Maehl, Pflu, Davis, Jordan...), I don't see him contributing right away unless we have another string of injuries that presses him into duty. If he has raw talent and 4 to play 3, RS him and then take time developing the potential.

Yeah I mostly agree with that. When the RS year is available its good to take advantage of it. I do think coming in the spring will give him a chance to play right away.

Seems like WR would be one of the most difficult positions to recruit. So much of their performance depends on what QB play and scheme they were working in.

Looking forward to seeing what LT can do in the Spring!

The big problem with red shirting too many players is you use up that schollie 1 more year. Based upen the numbers being thrown around on this board, there may only be 17-18 next year, R/S 5 & only have 12-13 in 5 years. I know attrition , transfers & early departures happen but we do need balance in our classes. Having said all that, I still trust the coaching staff to do the right thing.

I think that Tuinei may be redshirted if he isn't high on the depth chart, but with the rash of injuries this team suffers, it may not hurt for the coaches to not designate WRs as redshirt candidates. Our depth is currently inexperienced so there will be chances for players to showcase themselves if they get on the field.

Great news. The Ducks finally got a player in that had a red flag raised in terms of qualifying. Hopefully this becomes a more regular occurrence.

They have his film up on goducks.com. He was pretty much unguardable especially when he ran short slants in most of the clips. The QB would take about a 2 step drop, hit him real quick, LT would break the initial tackle & be gone. Also caught some fades along the sideline which, of course, the DBs had no chance at. He looks really good & not nearly as skinny as his height/weight would suggest. With him coming in spring I think he's got just as good of a chance as anyone to see the field this year.

Its a relief that someone actually broke through the academic barrier. He has a high ceiling as a player with his size and he has good speed for that size as well. If he can work and prove to the coaches that he deserves being on the field... He will end up there before all is said and done.

Being that he graduated HS with over 3.5gpa and was an A student in his 1 year of JUCO didn't hurt his appeal to the NCAA.
