Like that article pointed out, Bolden does have much better throwing mechanics than Gardner. I would be very happy to get either of them, but I can see why Chip has Bolden rated higher.

There will be a lot of negative recruiting the Ducks will have to overcome in order to get Bolden, given his comments about the spread.

The comments concerning his willingness to play in the spread are worth noting. We may be too spread-oriented for him, but it's certainly worth a try:

"He's a good athlete that can run, but I like that he prefers to be in the pocket..."

"...He also mentions that part of the attraction of Michigan State is that they run some pro-style, rather than all spread, but I saw nothing to suggest that he wouldn't be willing to play for a spread attack, since he wants to showcase all his skills, including the ability to run."

Let's see what happens when Masoli puts up Heisman-type numbers this fall. I bet these dual-threat QB's won't be too worried about not being able to showcase their throwing ability (the thing that gets them drafted) after seeing him run AND throw this fall!

Scout has a new story and their own video of him up now. Solid thrower.
