Bryce Brown on LSU visit

Maybe I'm reading through a haze of green, but the report on the website just seemed like a typical canned response about a recruiting trip.

PotentialPlayers.com has had glowing reports about every visit, from the viewpoint of the visited team.

This is typical of the reports that have been posted there.

The only team BB has consisitently been quoted as complimentary to by an outside source, is Oregon.

Couldn't agree more. Until he says something really substantial, not just the regular post visit quotes, I still think the Ducks are in the lead. My only worry is that with his parents not being sold on Oregon, he will like another school just enough to compromise & go with his parents choice.

Not going out on much of a limb, but I would guess that it's between Miami, LSU and Oregon. You're guess is as good as mine as to who is in the lead. I know we all want to think that Oregon is in the lead because we are all duck fans, but who knows if that's the case. One thing I don't like is that a lot of these top recruits seem to show interest and visit Oregon early on, and when it's all said in done, these guys visit other schools that seem to pick up the momentum.

Actually, the last substantial thing I heard from Mops is not to get too excited about Brown and that he is still commited to Miami. The only person that really knows what's going on with Brown is Brown himself. I will remain cautiously optimistic based on what Bryce has repeatedly said about Oregon, but it's certainly not even close to a done deal that he will be a duck.

Actually, the last substantial thing I heard from Mops is not to get too excited about Brown and that he is still commited to Miami.

I was in chat with Mops Friday & he said that the Ducks are Bryces choice but it's his parents holding him back. Obviously just his opinion but it definitely carries some weight when it comes to recruiting. In 16 days we'll know fo sure so until then speculating is just that, speculation.

It's a done deal... That Bryce Brown will sign with his team of choice before the start of fall workouts... He doesn't even have to sign a LOI... He can do a scholastic aid agreement, similar to other late arrivals... (IIRC, isn't that what Jeremiah Masoli actually signed?)

If he chooses that route, there is even less limit on when he lands, outside of the patience of the coaches in waiting.

We discussed the success and the competition in the SEC and how they get their players ready for the next level. Coach Miles talked about the success of Coach Porter's running backs and all of the things that LSU can do for me. I was very impressed and intrigued by what LSU had to offer, and it made me think about what I could offer them."

When's the last time they had an even decent pro RB prospect? I bet Crowten was taking credit for JStew's success too

They do prepare a lot of players for the next level. But, they are mostly linemen. Pac-10 has a great track record with skill positions in the NFL.

I thought things got a little ridiculous on this board with bickering, etc. But, reading the UT and LSU boards gives me a whole new perspective. They're either all 10 years old or just plain certifiable out there!

I don't have a problem with fans wanting recruits. I feel more confidence in those players who committed on time, want to be part of a team, and don't have all the hype.

They make some tOSU posters, and Beleavinerlovinz followers seem sane by comparison... But that bunch from Miami that invaded eDuck a few weeks ago was the worst! At least the guys from UT,tOSU,and LSU attempt to give lip service to football discussion!

Heh. I haven't checked out what the Miami people are doing. But, you're right. I went back and forth with the tOSU guys forever. They're way more down to earth than the SEC. Eye-opening to say the least.

Someone on that thread also mentioned Bryce's brother (assuming not Arthur Jr.) was in a Baton Rouge bar, whipped it out and started peeing everywhere. I really don't think any of this happened. I think it's funny how the LSU and Tenn boards never mention Oregon as a contender for BB. Even when someone posts Bryce saying the Ducks are #1 and how he talks so highly of them.

I think we're not mentioned as a contender because we've never landed a top-rated prospect east of Utah. Until we land some top-flight players from the east, we will unfortunately be scoffed at.

I really hope we can land BB.
