Just sucks all the momentum out of the game with all the foul calls. That seriously hurts Oregon, which depends on momentum to get leads. When it comes down to a grinding, half-court game, Oregon is at a severe disadvantage to most teams.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Seriously. Its such a tired complaint but good god, can we just play some basketball? Re: Stanford @ Oregon
We aren't bad, just not quite as good as we seemed there for a few games. You aren't going to sustain 50% from 3 & thats what we were doing during that stretch.Eksynyt wrote:Man, this team is just bad. I keep forgetting that...ugh.
And like greenyellow said, when the refs don't let us play & get the game at that crazy pace, we aren't at our best. We need that to beat these bigger, more talented teams.

Re: Stanford @ Oregon
So Catron basically gets destroyed every time he goes to the basket with no calls. But the refs call every other touch foul possible. These refs can't be replaced soon enough. And I REALLY don't like complaining about officiating but this is so stupid.

That T on Catron was ridiculous. The guys almost getting knocked to the ground every time he touches the ball & they won't call anything. He finally says something & they immediately T him up. Friggin' garbage. I hate basketball right now.

CBI is starting look more and more likely with this one basically done, barring a miraculous finish. Not a way that Altman wanted to finish the home schedule. Also sucks for the SRs to finish poorly at home.

This a nightmare way to close out the SRs. Furd can't miss & we can't seem to put anything together. Just sucky all around. We'll be playing first day in the pac10 tourney too.

Re: Stanford @ Oregon
NIT was off the table the moment Cal finished us off.
Bad game all around today, I agree with a poster above who said we just weren't as good as the past month might indicate. We're still the untalented pack of mysfits that we were when we were getting beat by Idaho and SJSU at home, Altman's done some wonderful things for us this year but you can't plug every hole in a ship as leaky as this one.
Disappointing, sure, but not as frustrating as many of the losses in years past have been. Props to Stanford, too, they really brought it.

Today also shows how much you actually need some post players. Stanford's posts absolutely killed Oregon today. I definitely didn't see Owens going off for almost 30 points. Powell is going to be tough to face for the next 3 years.

Noticed that too. Funny how well you can hear things in the arena. Could also be that the mics are really good at picking up those things.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Did you guys here that fan yell, "Hey Ref, go f*ck yourself!" loud & clear over the tv broadcast?made my day.

Stanford shot lights out today. Still, disappointing as I thought we would get these two wins at home after we were playing so well. Probably no postseason at all now.

I still don't like Sim getting so many minutes per game. If he isn't hitting 3's then he really doesn't do much.

It seems as if several teams have gotten away with mugging Catron this season.

Re: Stanford @ Oregon
It's the best way to beat Oregon since Oregon doesn't really have anyone else that really scares another team from double teaming. It would be different if JJ was fully healthy, but even then there's really no perimeter players that can consistently hurt anyone. The team is full of streaky shooters so more often than not, teams are willing to gamble in leaving them open. When Oregon was winning, the guards and wings were hitting and allowing Catron to get open. Next year, teams shouldn't be able to lay off our perimeter players with Brown, Joseph, and Kingma coming in.woundedknees wrote:It seems as if several teams have gotten away with mugging Catron this season.
