Portland has had the #1 offense in the NBA. Defense is a problem though. But you can say the same about Phoenix, Dallas, Golden State, and Houston. I wouldn't pick any of those teams over PDX.

I think Portland is 1-2 pieces away from OKC & Spurs.

The eastern conference is a joke outside of Miami & Indiana

Their defense has been horrible the last few years, they won't make it far with the way their defense has been performing.

Portland needs 3 real bench players. If the blazers could go 8-9 deep, that would help their D a ton, but having the 2nd most minutes of starters in the nba means they can't afford to spend as much energy or get fouls on the d end. Would be nice to find someone like Bruce Bowen was in San Antonio back in the day.

the #1 offense in the nba that relies on jump shots and is paired with an awful defense = first round exit when teams start extending in the postseason.

So if the playoffs were today.. you think Phoenix or Houston would bounce them in the first round?

probably both, yes. phoenix is a matchup nightmare for us, for whatever reason. i would not cherish trying to stop james harden and the ridiculous calls he get in the playoffs, to say nothing of relying on the lopez, meyers, and freeland train to contain dwight.

portland is going to have to go out and prove they can win in the postseason before i believe it. as i've said, we resemble a george karl denver nugget team (lots of regular season wins/decent playoff seed/inevitable first round exit) than we do a team that's going to do anything worthwhile.

my prediction is a 3 or 4 seed, where we run into a clipper team who beats us in 5.

I get the criticism, but it's not like Phx and Houston are without flaws. Houston in particular is an extremely broken team with a lot of bad defensive players (worst than PDX).

I actually think this team more closely resembles the Mavs championship team (Scotts was on their staff). Although I still think Portland needs to improve their bench before the playoffs if they want to make a serious run.

Blazers 29-9 going into the hardest road trip of the year: San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Oklahoma City.

Nice win at San Antonio tonight. Matthews was a beast...LMA also. Hoping for a split on this trip, but would be thrilled with better. Go Blazers!

Nice win by the Blazers over my Spurs last night. Great offense displayed by the Blazers. Spurs were ice cold and missing Splitter and Green hurt but no doubt Portland played great and deserved that win.

Great for the Blazers, 30-9. Can't believe we got to 30 wins before double digit losses.

It amazes me how bad Blazers 2nd unit is. How is Will Barton still in the NBA?
