Kid is surrounded by a huge amount of hype, I am not concerned about Tenn., but rather USC, other than his brother being at Miami, it is getting clearer that his heart is not there. Listening to him, it is pretty clear that a huge portion of his decision and his internal problems stem from marketing himself. If that is Butler’s influence then it is wrong and the dude needs to step away. The big paycheck’s will come someday, just not at the moment.

Part of Bryce’s problem is he needs to continue to enjoy his youth while he can and as he states “get in touch with his spirit”.
If he does he’s a DUCK.
If he doesn’t and surrenders to the hype, my bet is he’s going to the Trojans.

With the Trojans' recent history at RB, I think it would be something of a waste for BB to go there.

In all likelihood, he would still get to the league. His competition for PT would always be stiff. (Not that it wouldn't be at Oregon, but the Trojans currently have 7 returning tb/rbs, and 3 returning fbs, most of whom are current freshman/sophomores.)

The bad thing for him visiting, and IMO the biggest tool in Petey's pocket at the moment, is the lack of any rb commit in the current (2009) class.

That should definitely be a concern for Duck Fans.

Keep in mind Bryce has already been to USC on his brother Arthur's visit last year. So he has an idea what to expect on his (potential) visit. I'm not as worried about this trip as Tenn. personally even after the audio from yesterday.
USC has too much depth at RB and stats are heavily not in their favor.

I like the quote in the interview about Miami's new OC:

"He came down when I was in Nebraska, we talked X's and O's, and that was it... It sounds good, but (Love that word in this context), like, inside something just tells me that, you know... it's not really something I like."

Hard to believe that Tennessee is talking a correlation to Lendale White and Reggie Bush.... To paraphrase Michael Jordan, "Where is the supporting staff?

Interesting that he says, "I don't want for someone to throw their program on me, you know, because if it turns out that I'm not, "The Guy", people don't point their finger at me."

It's probably been said before, even in the BB context, but the Duck OL would be another reason for Brown to come here, mostly due to Greatwood's coaching ability. This year, 2009, I actually think that the Duck OL won't be much better than passable, simply because of all the vets we lost. But we do not lose any OLmen to graduation going into the 2010 season. That, the RS freshmen OL talent who really only begin their college playing careers this year (York, Stevens, Cody; not to mention soph Weems, who might be ready for much bigger contributions this year), suggests that 2010-11 -- 2011 likely being BB's last college year -- could be truly banner years for the Duck running game (as if the last few years haven't been . . . ).

BB's heart is in Eugene and he knows it. My only concern is that this will be another Boyd situation where he changed his mind at the last second due to external influences. IMHO, if Bryce makes up his own mind, he'll be a Duck.

That's exactly how I feel. BB has been pretty independent thru this whole thing, in terms of his decision making. He will be Duck, I really think so.

Everything in Eugene seems to favor what Bryce wants out of college. Small town atmosphere, elite running game, team-first approach by the coaching staff, no favortism shown, and Bryce doesn't have to come in and be "the man" as we have LGB and LMJ to compete for starting roles. Ducks are competing on the national stage and ESPN loves us, which gives tons of exposure which is something Bryce wants. We're knocking on USC's door next season for conference leadership. If he comes in and works hard, I have no doubt that he'll be competing for a Heisman at some point and perhaps help us to our first NC appearance. We have a solid background of getting RB's into the NFL. It's all here... he just needs to pull the trigger.

Well said I agree! He just sounds like he wants to work hard and compete for his share of the pie, how refreshing considering his mentors a mess!

I get the feeling that part of BB's idea of a 'piece of the pie', includes being with a group of guys he can respect and got to battle with, as well as performing (As a group) at the highest level. That bodes well for any team that garners his services.

A guy who doesn't want to be expected to carry a team all by himself? In a way, wasn't that the attitude of Snoop? Do your best, as part of the team, for the success of all.

Yuck. And how many running backs from LSU are in the NFL? I hope this isn't Tahj Boyd all over again.

Almost no other team can boast the rushing and overall offensive stats that we do. Exceptional rushing stats gets you noticed for Heisman and obviously for high first round NFL draft day picks. It doesn't matter what school it is.... if you're putting up the rushing yards that the Ducks do.... ESPN praises you as a Heisman contender and you go high in the draft.

Rushing Yards: The bottom line is that we got it and they don't. End of story.

Just noticed Bryce Brown no longer has a facebook page, or at least one I can't find. I would look at it every few days and it's sad, he had people absolutely begging him and then calling him out too on his own page. Poor guy. The Miami fans were brutal.
I posted on there once or twice and just said good luck with your decision wherever you end up. Not like you must pick Oregon or anything. Well it's official one month today it all gets laid to rest anyways.
At that point with it this public if he picks Oregon, not only the value of the player we get but the value of that publicity would be UNREAL!
