So obviously he hasn't decided to bench anyone yet... has he said in the conference what kind of information he's waiting on, or why he hasn't done it yet?

It was a scrimmage report, guys.

He did discuss the fact that the team was not smiling in practice, was remorseful, wanted to provide restitution to the community, etc...

He said Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson split reps with first team, and said that was normal.

CLM says he plans on playing Jordan Jefferson in the opener. Guys, I know that the immediate reaction of an outsider is “Typical SEC”…however…there is no doubt in my mind that this means Les (who I guarantee knows exactly what happened) honestly believes that Jefferson was not involved as some reports say. If I am right then that means Jefferson is only guilty of breaking curfew and that alone (being that this is his first offense in three years) is not enough to suspend him.

After all the facts have come out (at least from what I gather), it sounds like the Marine punched the LSU punter in the bar over a girl. Then it started back up out in the parking lot and that's when JJ and a few other LSU players joined in. Doubt anything major comes from anything here.

I take it that you have been to tigerdroppings

From what I have put together that is pretty much what happened...though it should be added that the guy in the truck was there as back up for the marine that seemed to have started the fight in the bar by punching the punter and wasn’t merely being a good Samaritan as first reported. That is however…pure speculation like everything else that has been put out there so far this speculation the difference being this just places the players in a different light.

If those were Ducks, people would be asking for Chip's head on a platter if he didn't suspend the leader of the team for not only breaking curfew, but taking other teammates with him to a bar.

I heard from a source that Jordan Jefferson connected on four of sixteen punches thrown. And that two connected with the wrong target.

I heard he threw a punch but didn't plant his front foot so it sailed high and missed.

Isn't Jefferson underage as well?

Some people have major problems with it…others say it has been a tradition spanning multiple coaches for the kids to break curfew the last night of fall camp. Either way you cut I really don’t see any program suspending their players for breaking curfew alone, that kind of thing is normally taken care of with extra running or loss of some privilege.

This situation is unique because a fight occurred…the rub is no one outside of the team and the “victims” know what went down. If the guys are suspended and then later found just to have been separating or defending their teammates, then what? The fact that Les has not officially suspended someone tells me there is a very good reason that the facts keep changing in this case, and that is the initial reports are FAR from the truth.

But i'm pretty big homer and my opinions should be taken as such.

He was 20 at the time…he turns 21 this week or next.

The law is that you can enter a bar at 18 in Louisiana unless the bar or some parish ordinance says otherwise. Therefore, no he was of age to be at the bar, and there have been no reports that he was actually drinking. Though I could care less if he was...must peeps down here have an ice chest with their initials on it by the time they are 17.
