Knee jerk much?

We all know we need to wait a couple years before judging a class. Look at Chip in 2010, only two of the top ten rated players ended up being major contributors (Josh Huff, Keanon Lowe), Curtis White medically retired, Lache Seastrunk and Donte Williams both transferred and the Ducks were sanctioned. Compared to our highest rated class in history I'll take today's group any day of the week.

I think he was referring to today's results, not the overall recruiting class.

My favorite duck block of all time is him leveling that USC D-lineman.
This is the video, but it doesn't do it justice.

I still remember him coming off the field, virtually paralyzed in one arm and the other arm swinging in the air trying to get his teammates riled up. What a stud.

Going 0-3 at WR
0 CBs
Good overall #s does not mean it's balanced or addresses needs

So Hall and Crocker don't count?
While it is a bummer to miss out on other guys, it happens every year. The three we got look fairly promising. Oregon State sure wanted Crocker bad. It's time to start looking at who we got, rather than what we didn't get.

One problem is we left scholarships on the table. We should have taken around 27. The staff had been representing that the inn was full, and they left 20 official visits on the table. We had to call 2 players up for offers on signing day to boot. We have numbers issues on the roster. It's not about how good this class is or isn't, as far as I read Duckenstien, but about how do we not find 4-5 more good players, and how did the staff get fooled by so many kids coming down the stretch. Fair concerns regardless of who we actually signed.
BTW, outside Shough, has Arroyo brought in anybody in the past year? I know he's had some Texas kids commit, but they de-committed, and I know the staff shares some of these recruiting responsibilities. But who am I missing that we can absolutely attribute to Arroyo? I can't remember if he was responsible for any of the kids we got last year.

I guess some of this reaction depends on expectations going in. I more or less thought we were multi-year screwed as soon as I heard Willie was looking at FSU. To be honest, I have no idea how any of these recruits were sold on coming to Oregon after that. A head coach with no experience at this level, an OC with no discernible plan, and a roster in tatters. In general, Oregon is a team without an identity. The old Oregon is now down at UCLA.
Under these circumstances, a 16th-ranked class is pretty amazing and a tribute to Oregon's brand. Sure, it would have been nice to get a few stud DT's and some more receivers (I have no idea what people's issues are with the DB's, given that Graham, Lenoir, and Amadi are coming back), but Hall and Crocker and Tucker seem like a good start. I think we were always going to be dependent on the development of Johnson, Davis, McNeal and Redd this season anyway.
Let's just see how things develop. We've got a pretty darn good QB, and another one that looks pretty good in this class. I think the fix for the ducks after the last few years of turmoil is going to take awhile. I'm also not so sure I wouldn't rather have those scholarships available next year anyway - it seems like landing those studs everyone wants will be easier when our new staff has a year under their belts. The back-up guys they could have got this year with those extra 4-5 scholarships ( I think there are actually 7 left) were probably going to look a lot like some of the guys that are already on the team - more Daewood Davis/ Johnny Johnson -type players.
