I have never called for a firing before, but when you show up for work this unprepared, there have to be consequences. The number of procedural mistakes penalties alone deserve some form of consequence.

Even if you had a solid multi-year track record, imagine if you sat on a project you had months to prepare for and showed up with nothing in hand. Your boss does not just say, “awwww it’s okay, bud.”
