I really hope that isn't true.

WOW!

Way to take a portion of his quote and spin it.

In fact, if an elite-level high school quarterback had to pick between Oregon and Oregon State and wanted the best preparation possible for a pro career, it’s an easy choice right now: the Beavers.

What a bunch of horseshit.

^ I love the comment at the bottom!

That articles argument is only true if you you using a RB as your QB, we do not do that. The proof is if your QBs make it to the league and our do thats why Boyd choosing Clemson over us is even more strange because what have they done...nothing! Thanks Momma!

I agree with everyone who thinks a RB is the most important piece of the offense to recruit.

Blount has next year only. LMJ has never seen the field and although he is regarded to be very talented, I think it is unlikely he is an everydown back during his career. Crenshaw and Alston who are good but not superstars don't have a ton of time left either and thats basically our running group.

Should all else fail and we cannot get a highly talented back this year or next, then good old chris harper could wind up playing there instead of receiver, bellotti once quoted him as "the most dangerous player on our team with the ball in his hands"

So even if we brick out on Bryce Brown, to me Harper could be a legit plan B.s

As far as quarterback goes, Masoli and hopefully Costa will be our two guys next year. If the coaches believe that Roper is a suitable backup to the others (which he should be next year) then Thomas HAS to redshirt vs burn another year doing nothing.

So even though it looks like we missed Boyd, we have Masoli, then a 3 years deep in the system well trained D Thomas to hold it down.

I believe there was quite a bit of excitement over Thomas when he committed, and I dont think anything he did while playing this year should concern duck fans about whether he has the ability to grow into a very good quarterback in Oregon's offense.

Obviously getting superstar recruits is a good thing... but I really don't think we are in a crisis style position when we don't get them either.

Hype does not produce results.... It only fuels the imagination.

THOUGH - Getting Bryce Brown would be optimal though considering Blount only has one more year... It is probably reasonable to assume the nations #1 running back recruit will have an impact on whatever team he plays on.

I believe this offense could easily produce 3/1000 yard rushers in a single season, plus a QB with 3000 yards passing.

Why wouldn't that appeal to a young man.

The system gives multiple players a chance to shine, yet some young men are more determined to be alone in the spotlight. That is what makes Oregon so special over the last couple of seasons. Sure, they had elite level players like Dixon, JJ, LGB, and Stewart, but all of them are team players first.

Parents, coaches, and other mentors have done a crackerjack job with those young men.

Now we have Masoli, Harper, LMJ, and DT as the core of a simlar group. Let's keep up the great run.

I fully agree with 3/1,000 yard performers in a season thing...We almost did it this year without Masoli playing all the time...I would venture to say there is no doubt he would have had a 1,000 with playing all year.

I just keep thinking about the scene in Water Boy where Bobby's Mama finds out he's been playin' da foosball behind her back.

"You gonna go to Oregon an' leavin' me here alone with no one but Steve?!? Oregon's the devil!!!"

Only this Waterboy didn't stand up to his Mama.

Truer point that is ignored by the article and most writers, the only qb to play a full season that has not been drafted in recent history was Fife; the list of players who have made the pros is long. Being prepared, not certain what qualifies that statement. Would appear on the basis of play, Flacco's success would indicate Delaware is the place to go to prepare for the NFL.

Didn't see Delaware on his list of schools.
