Lenoir decides at 12:30. Likely the last commit.

Re: Signing Day Thread (Wednesday February 1st)
Actually, both USC and UW took some losses to the NFL. They'll still almost certainly be the favorites in both divisions, though. Personally, I think Oregon is as good as anyone in the league offensively, it's how quickly the defense can be turned around that'll be the key.QuackininBama wrote:The national media finally gets a chance to breath a sigh of relief. USC and Washington return to the top of the Pac-12 and Oregon returns to the middle of the division. All has been righted in the college football world.greenyellow wrote:So it's looking like this class will be about 24 players if/when Lenoir commits. Sucks they couldn't pull in some more players. Oregon is solidly in the top 25 but it would have been to get top-20. USC just absolutely whooped everyone in the Pac-12 this year on the recruiting front. They're going to be awfully tough to beat now.
The good news is that unless we make the Pac-12 championship game, we'll avoid USC for the next 2 years. That should give the staff ample time to make us better, though they'll still be good, too.
It would be really cool to see Sam Darnold leave early for the NFL.

Underwhelming? Maybe in your eyes. This is a good class. Considering the short time they had to recruit, I'm impressed. My only beef would be not having a backup plan at TE if Falo does go to SC.scoducks wrote:Look on the bright side... even if we were underwhelming we arn't Texas... Recruiting hotbed and they are #33 in the recruiting rankings. So much for Tom Herman working miracles over there.Phenom wrote:That would be lame.karlhungis wrote:I'm guessing they are counting Lenoir as the surprise.![]()
Overall, underwhelming considering what we were expecting but pretty good considering where we were a few months ago.

It could also show that QB11 wasn't given any current info. JHop has been on this board, I still don't see why he would give QB11 info to take to 24/7. I don't doubt they talk or used to but it just doesn't make sense.greenyellow wrote:He told some guys on DT that's who he thought Oregon would get based on the information he had. Only two on his list Oregon will likely end up with are Lenoir, Gibson, and Moore. Just shows that information near NSD can get out of date real fast with how fluid this time is.CanadianQuackers wrote:When did JHop say this?Duckenstein wrote:Damn jhops info was off. Yeah, I think they did well considering where we were. I don't even want to think where we would have ended with the old staff. high 30's/40's I would guess.

Possibly not getting Falo or any other TE makes cutting Robinson-Carr loose and not getting any other TEs to visit to be their biggest mistake. I fully expect them to go after some grad transfers now just to get some bodies.

Re: Signing Day Thread (Wednesday February 1st)
so far no splashes on signing day but overall a very good class considering what Coach T was up against. These coaches have already started building relationships and pipelines, next class cycle is going to be fun to watch and 2019 is going to be even better. Going to be fun to watch what Coach T and team are building.

2018 is going to be a better barometer on how well this staff can recruit. A late start and the need to build relationships fast worked heavily against them this year.gofightingducks wrote:so far no splashes on signing day but overall a very good class considering what Coach T was up against. The staff did say they wouldn't take guys just to fill spots especially at TE, hence why Chase Rogers didn't get a scholarship I am guessing.greenyellow wrote:Possibly not getting Falo or any other TE makes cutting Robinson-Carr loose and not getting any other TEs to visit to be their biggest mistake. Thought they brought in an ASU TE. but the guy had some character issues. They're going to have to hope that they stay healthy and get a lot of contributions from a bunch of untested guys. Otherwise, it's going to be awfully tough to run some power and goal line sets.CanadianQuackers wrote:The staff did say they wouldn't take guys just to fill spots especially at TE, hence why Chase Rogers didn't get a scholarship I am guessing.greenyellow wrote:Possibly not getting Falo or any other TE makes cutting Robinson-Carr loose and not getting any other TEs to visit to be their biggest mistake. Taggart just said in his press conference that there was a lot of movement the day before signing day. Guess thats why predictions were completely off for some people.
