Even Oregon BB recruits have taken notice of KT's commitment:

Here's Thibodeaux's official commitment video (done by the same group that did Mycah Pittman's):

I’ll share what I was told the morning after the Washington game. I know a few guys down in LA who do videos, and one of them (USC grad) messaged me saying that KT was looking for someone to make him an Oregon video. I tweeted a little teaser and told a few twitter pals what I heard and where I heard it from.

I was really confident. But in the past week I convinced myself it was just the post visit afterglow. Even when he retweeted my drawing I thought it was a smoke screen.

I’m kind of in disbelief it actually happened. Wow. Five stars aren’t going to be lining up right away, he’s a rare type who has priorities other than football, but this is amazing and it’s impact will be felt on more than just the football field.

We've been the bridesmaid on so many big name 5* guys, to see the #1 ranked recruit commit on national tv is pretty surreal...

Had to glance at the FSU 247 board. What a bitter group with short memories. I did learn that Oregon will never get to an important bowl game, KT won't get any exposure, and he loses out on the opportunity to learn "real" football. I didn't even complete the first page. 2015 was so long ago.

I've fixed it. People have to remember that adding formatting like bold, underline, and italics takes away the clickable link.

The Bitterness Runs Deep With This One...

"Does it hurt a little? yes. Mostly just because of the momentum it would have provided within the program but it is not the end of the world. He will go to Oregon never

get anywhere past a mediocre Bowl game and then go on to the league if he stays healthy. The Pac 12 is the overwhelming favorite for the shittiest conference year in

and year out and gets zero respect from the committee. In all honesty, it takes him pulling one protest or doing something politically charged and it is bad press for the

school and an unnecessary distraction for the football team. He openly stated that was a part of his plans when going to a school was to be openly apart of protests and

be completely involved with the political world.
Would of liked to have him and would of dealt with the extra drama but he fits perfectly at a hipster school like Oregon.

Just sucks for him to have to go somewhere that has won absolutely nothing in the College football world.

Also did not really know who to cheer for out of Oregon and Bama. UF was out of it no matter how many times they put their stupid name ahead of us in the graphic but I was and am sick of Bama paying everyone but the way Oregon fans have thrown whiny Temper Tantrums over the Willie stuff has made me really hate their fanbase and the shitty Nike outlet they run up there."

Brilliant journalistic eloquence.

It’s official: Oregon Ducks are national recruiting power (Commentary)

It couldn’t happen again, could it?
How many times had the Oregon Ducks been just another hat on the table for a five-star prospect?
Window dressing for someone else’s big celebration.
Sure, consensus five-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, ESPN’s No. 1 overall prospect, had called Oregon’s overtime win over then-No. 7 Washington the "best college game (he’d) ever been to” and experts spent weeks saying the 6-foot-5, 234-pound defensive lineman was destined to be a Duck.
But in the final days of his recruitment the all-too-familiar “Alabama is closing hard” stories began and it seemed the… Tide?... had turned for Thibodeaux.
Second place for a five-star prospect yet another? Could it really be?
Oregon fans half-heartedly tuned in to ESPN at halftime of the New Mexico Bowl, hoping against all odds that this time would be different.

“Don’t get your hopes up,” they told themselves. “We’ve been down this road before.”
Except the hat Thibodeaux pulled out of nowhere was green and yellow.
Was it a trick? Would he toss it aside for a crimson Alabama hat?
“No, he put the hat on his head. This is really happening,” Oregon fans must’ve said to themselves, analyzing his commitment like the Zapruder film.
It was real, and suddenly ESPN analysts, who hadn’t even mentioned Oregon as a contender in the initial Thibodeaux commitment tease, were suddenly talking about him conference-altering talent heading to Eugene.
When Oregon beat Washington this season it was the beginning of the Cristobal era in Eugene, but the ramifications of that victory – one that came with Thibodeaux in attendance – weren’t truly felt until Saturday.
The win marked a new era in Oregon football for Cristobal, but Thibodeaux’s commitment Saturday marked a new era in Oregon football recruiting.

Cristobal and his coaching staff have assembled the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class nationally, something Chip Kelly could never do, and Scott Frost seemed to imply was impossible.
In his final recruiting class, Mark Helfrich failed to sign a top-45 talent in the state of California. This year, according to ESPN, Oregon has commitments from the state’s top two prospects – Thibodeax and cornerback MyKael Wright – and six of the top 25.
So, celebrate Thibodeaux’s commitment this weekend Oregon fans – if you’ve followed recruiting very long you’ve been disappointed far too many times not to.
But also remember this: It’s time to adjust your expectations for Oregon on the recruiting trail.
Cristobal is a former national recruiter of the year and he’s made a strong case for his candidacy again in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
For years under Kelly, Oregon was a national power.
On Saturday afternoon at halftime of the New Mexico Bowl Thibodeaux announced to the world on ESPN that Oregon has finally become one on the recruiting trail.
"In his final recruiting class, Mark Helfrich failed to sign a top-45 talent in the state of California. This year, according to ESPN, Oregon has commitments from the state’s top two prospects – Thibodeax and cornerback MyKael Wright – and six of the top 25."
Wow, that is really telling. No wonder we fell so hard.
