Energy certainly feels a lot better and less plays behind the LOS, but this needs to be a passing offense first with Davison as the premier RB1. I’m all for the occasional screen and throw behind the LOS but felt like Drew tried to force that to be the identity and limit this offense to “chance”. We have the horses to go at any defense in the nation and throw at them, we don’t need to rely on “trickery” and passes behind the LOS.

Just look around the league. Every other top ranked team took care of business without breaking a sweat. Oregon..........nope, we in a dogfight on our home field.

Every other team also played considerably easier opponents. Boise is a top 25 talent team. A few weeks from now, I suspect the game wouldn’t be as close, but when you’re shaking off the rust and still figuring out rotations in game 1, this can happen. There’s really no need to overreact to this. A lot of the issues have been self-inflicted and that can be improved over time. The key is just getting the win and moving on.

Gonna need defense to win this one for us.

Not sold on the D either. Coin flip at this point. I believe zero sacks again, a problem last year, and weak LB play again. You rarely hear a LB making a play.

We have at least two sacks, BSU is throwing quick passes to avoid the pass rush, really the BSU has points off of the defensive mistakes. If the defense plays clean and doesn’t commit stupid penalties then the Oregon offense needs to score 2 more TD’s to win this game.

I’m unhappy with Hampton over rotating on defense and not letting his first team get in a rhythm and for starting Williams over Benjamin but to me I see a far superior coordinator for the defense compared to the offense. Drew Mehringer is a hot mess.

Totally underwhelmed at this point.

Just like last year, as soon as the offense gains momentum the defense comes out flat.

Also why is Hampton rotating so much on defense? It’s really pissing me off. THIS IS AN ACTUAL GAME! Fall camp is for testing out lineups, hit an actual game especially one like this!
