Blazers 2023-2024 Thread

What the Blazers really need to do is be sold to someone who actually cares, is willing to spend to win, and isn't just there for the executor's fees. I'm hoping the tanking season ticket and merchandise sales along with all the bad feelings from the fanbase will ultimately be what makes Jody Allen and Bert Kolde sell.

Looks like Portland may be scrounging around the Euroleague for big men as they've targeted a couple guys. Both have had cups of coffee at the NBA level but didn't stick around long. With Nurk likely being gone soon and the only other centers being two-way players, it couldn't hurt to look at them if they're on a 3-5 year rebuild plan.

Kinda seems like Cronin might be serious about opening up the trade to a bunch of different teams. This is his big chance to really kickstart the rebuild. After all the whining Lillard did about wanting to be surrounded with talent, it would be rather ironic if that happened in part by trading him away.

It's been awhile, but it looks like the Blazers are going to be fun again soon.

Kinda seems like Cronin might be serious about opening up the trade to a bunch of different teams. This is his big chance to really kickstart the rebuild. After all the whining Lillard did about wanting to be surrounded with talent, it would be rather ironic if that happened in part by trading him away.

If they want to be competitive again, we need Jody to sell to Phil, and get Ainge as the GM.

Honestly, I'm ok with Kanter. He's the best rebounder in the league hands down, and makes a very high percentage of his shots down low

Isn’t that what the blazers have already been doing the last 2 years? How many years do they have to tank, before it pays dividends?

Ironically, I might pick up a multi-game package this year because I expect prices to fall a fair amount, and I'm an easy bike ride or long walk from the Rose Garden. The starting lineup of Scoot (13ppg?), Simons (20ppg?), Sharpe (15ppg?), Grant (20ppg?) and Nurk (10ppg?) isn't the worst team, though it clearly lacks a closer and the bench is almost completely barren. Reminds me, though, of the Kings of a couple years ago. Hopefully they find a good use for the $45M they're freeing up without Dame. For now, I don't expect a lot of wins, but if it's a team that plays hard then they could be pretty entertaining.

That said, if the upcoming Pac-12 media deal features a way to stream all the Duck games, then I might finally cut cable. I'll go to some Blazer games and watch highlights but don't have much incentive to watch development for multiple nights a week. I only really use cable TV for the Ducks and Blazers.

I cut cable, and you really don’t save a ton of money honestly. Everyone wants to charge you for a subscription. Unless you get an unlocked fire stick or something like that.
