That game was so ugly, even Jerry Falwell Jr. didn't want to watch.

Maybe seeing the poodles in the playoff causes a few donors to put a few more coins into the Collective to see a few of these guys return.buckmarkduck wrote: Today we saw what having Burch looks like vs the run and not having him vs UW. I think they already have. Can’t fathom what is being paid out to Gabriel and Moore. Ridiculous haul. Hope the youngin’s pan out on the D-line and secondary. In Lanning I trust. Of those currently on the team, whom (defensively) would you overpay to keep to make sure they stay?Duck07 wrote:Maybe seeing the poodles in the playoff causes a few donors to put a few more coins into the Collective to see a few of these guys return.buckmarkduck wrote: Today we saw what having Burch looks like vs the run and not having him vs UW. Not so sure this stat is relevant to today. Liberty almost ran at will, and Oregon missed several tackles. Liberty was just a victim to falling behind big and had to abandon the run.buckmarkduck wrote:Duck07 wrote:As we go from the best passing conference to one of the top rushing conferences, this is a great accomplishment this year.

In order, probably Burch, Jacobs, Tysheem Johnson and then Bassa but ideally we keep them all because they all can improve their draft stock.Everythingsducky wrote: I think they already have. Out of all the game thread posts, this is the game threadiest.squintsdd wrote: Not so sure this stat is relevant to today. Liberty almost ran at will, and Oregon missed several tackles. Liberty was just a victim to falling behind big and had to abandon the run.
And for someone who's against "snipe posting" that's twice you've made a dig at me. Looks like we're both changing our ways in this thread.Phalanx wrote:Out of all the game thread posts, this is the game threadiest.squintsdd wrote: Not so sure this stat is relevant to today. Oregon bottled up the quarterback, but other than that they couldn't stop the run very well. Take out salter's and they averaged over 7 ypc, ever with salter's they averaged 6 ypc.. Why stop running when down 21-7? Maybe because historically, running isn't the quickest way to get back into a game that's starting to get away from you.buckmarkduck wrote:Liberty ran at will? Their biggest plays early came from passing. If they could run at will, they would have kept running when down 21-7. We shut them down llrettybwell after the fire few series
The ducks allowed one explosion play on the ground outside of garbage time, that was off a weird orbit motion option play on the first drive A play they later stuffed 3 or 4 times.squintsdd wrote:Oregon bottled up the quarterback, but other than that they couldn't stop the run very well. Their starting running back carried for no fewer than 4 yards only once the entire game, and that was the second to last play of the game for liberty. He ran for over a thousand yards and 17 TDs on the season, and carried the ball 16 times per game before today. Today he ran out only 8 times. Oregon struggled to stop the run when liberty went to their primary back, liberty just abandoned the runspacefrog13x wrote:The ducks allowed one explosion play on the ground outside of garbage time, that was off a weird orbit motion option play on the first drive A play they later stuffed 3 or 4 times.squintsdd wrote:Oregon bottled up the quarterback, but other than that they couldn't stop the run very well. Liberty averaged 300 yards rushing per game before tonight. Oregon held them to 168. They rushed 28 times compared to 24 passing. This is not 'abandoning the run'. The stats you are looking at are skewed by a 41-yard run that Cooley had while we were all discussing whether Oregon should take Nix out because the score was 38-6. The non-garbage time runs had a much lower average. Oregon did largely shut down their running game after the first series.squintsdd wrote:Oregon bottled up the quarterback, but other than that they couldn't stop the run very well. I'm good with it. Honestly I found it kind of funny.Phalanx wrote:Liberty averaged 300 yards rushing per game before tonight. Oregon held them to 168. They rushed 28 times compared to 24 passing. Sorry for the snipey-post, but it was so wrong in so many ways, it just seemed to fit the whole game thread hot-take style that so often appears here on game day.
