The real fans demand something better than high school coaching. There is not that disparity in talent between these teams, so it is all on the coaches, no question.
Tonight isn't about the coaching (except starting Vernon). The defensive calls haven't been that bad, it's mostly missed assignments and our corners getting killed 1 v 1
So then don't blame DP for his players not progressing and even getting worse?!
I don't. It's not DPs fault that Hardrick and Coleman have poor instincts.
Yes it is, he's playing them. Meaning he thinks they do.

I think they showed the USC 2005 score. It has been quite some time.

A lot of you are.
Oregon has had one of the great runs in Pac-8-10-12 history.
The true Oregon supporters will stick it out thru thick and thin.
Agreed x3.
Utah came to play and did their game planning very well.

That's a terrible analogy, and a bit offensive.

Yeah a real genius game plan....Throw to wide open receivers....win. lol Not really hard to game plan that.

I can assure all of the fans that are saying how bad our coaches are that you're way off base. Oregon has some of the best coaches in the country, and just about any successful coach in the country would say the same thing. There are very few Nick Saban's and Urban Meyer's. Some of the winningest coaches in the country have had down years, many have had consecutive down years.
I assure you that Chip Kelly would have had down years, too, if he'd stayed at Oregon. I do think that Chip would have brought in his own guy after Aliotti retired, but it's a moot point now.
Anyhow, everyone can go on thinking what they will. We'll be fine. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Pellum if the defense doesn't improve this season.
By the way, I recall something that Mark Helfrich said right after he was hired that was spot on, though most fans won't like it. He said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "it's not realistic to think that we'll go to the national championship every year".
He's absolutely right.
